Now that the winter month of December is upon us, it gives us a reason to be with our friends and enjoy the holiday activities that this cold December offers us. A Classic Christmas movie ‘National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation’ is what we will be seeing on December 5th. It will be shown at the renovated Redford Theater where organ music will be played during intermission. You can even get a picture with Santa, if you feel young enough. The following day the GM/SKIWI Christmas Party will be held at the Polish Cultural Center. It will include dinner, DJ dancing and a full premium bar. On Saturday the 13th we will be going to the Holiday Nights Festival at Greenfield Village. The whole Village is lit in a Christmas theme of old time decorations with many of the village staff dressed in period costumes. Later, on Friday the 19th we will be trying the food and beverage at the Clansmen Pub in Canterbury Village. The following Saturday on the 20th Craig Petku’s annual holiday Party will be offered. This event is always well attended. Finally on the 31st we will have our New Year’s Party at the Venetian Club. Please remember to buy your tickets early because the price goes up $10.00 on the 14th of the month.

This will lead us into the New Year with the club going to the Great Baraboo Brewery on January 2nd. The following day there is a planned ski outing with the Skiwi’s at Mt. Holly. Other events that we will be offering are the Lake Ann cross country outing in February, and the St. Patrick’s Day event with the band Blackthorne.

Have a very, Happy Holiday Season,

— Stan Sawicki, President GM Ski Club

John Zalewski organized a very successful outing to the Sands Bash. This annual event supports the Wigs 4 Kids charity and was held at the Barrister House in St. Clair Shores. Forty GMSC members and friends attended. It was a very worthwhile and enjoyable evening.

This is just one of many events we promote for the enjoyment of our members. Should you wish to plan a function or organize an outing for the club, please contact Dennis Dembiec or President Stan Sawicki.
