The 10-K runners will start at 7:30am, followed by a 2-mile fun run at 8am. A country breakfast, featuring biscuits and gravy and other “xins” will be held at Ramona City Hall (302 D) from 8-10am; donaƟons go to the 4th of July Fireworks Fund. Ramona Fes vi es begin on Saturday, July 4, with the popular Redneck Run in downtown Ramona. The 10-K runners will start at 7:30am, followed by a 2-mile fun run at 8am. A country breakfast, featuring biscuits and gravy and other “fi xins” will be held at Ramona City Hall (302 D) from 8-10am; dona ons go to the 4th of July Fireworks Fund.

The 2nd annual Ramona Youth Council’s Lawn Art Contest begins at 10am. Kids ages 8-18 are invited to create a design and spray paint it on a 6’x6’ area of grass. Stellar cash prizes—sponsored by TCT—will be awarded. Pre-registra on is required by June 26 to secure a spot in the contest—the contest is limited to 30 teams. Registra on is free for teams with a Ramona kid as team leader, OR if you bring your own spray paint. Otherwise, registra on is $10 for ages 8-12 and $15 for ages 13-18, and spray paint will be provided for the team. Cash prizes will be awarded for both levels of compe on with $100 fi rst prize for ages 13-18 and $50 for 8-12 year-olds. Registra on form and details at www.Ramona.KS.com.

Concessions will open at noon with the Flame Chaser BBQ, Brasch’s Bratwurst, and The Snow Cone Shack.

At noon, registra on opens for the popular James Weber Memorial Basketball Compe on at the City Park. The 3-on-3 compe on begins at 1pm. Entry fee is $15 for three players; 50% of the funds are paid in prizes and 50% benefi ts the James Weber Memorial Scholarship Fund. Compe on levels: 1-6th grade, 7-9th, high school, and adults. This compe on is coordinated by James’s mother, Lisa Hanschu.

Join us downtown on Hwy 4 at the White City Community Building on Saturday, June 6, from 8am — 4pm (and the 1st Sat. of each month thru October). The Chris an Church ladies will be serving a breakfast of biscuits & gravy or pancakes & sausage from 8—10am and a lunch from 11am—2pm. We will have a Silent Auc on with the bidding open 8am to noon, as well as a door prize each month. Sit for a quick portrait by Terra Coons. Shop for handmade jewelry and cra s, homemade jelly, baked goods, farm fresh eggs, produce, vegetable plants, perennials and much more. Come and join us for breakfast, lunch, shopping or just to visit.

CG/D United Methodist Church will have an “Ice Cream Social” food booth on Saturday, June 20. Stop by for homemade pies, ice cream, cake, or an ice cold tea. Look for (767-6868) our booth in front of Rerun Consignments. All proceeds will go towards the fellowship hall/west wing remodeling project.

The Jeremy Hopper Memorial Ball Tourney will be held on Friday, July 3. A 5K run and 1 mile fun walk will take place at 8am on Saturday, July 4. The fl ag raising ceremony will be held at 9am and the parade is scheduled for 4pm. Old-fashion children’s games will immediately follow the parade. The Woodbine Lions Club in co-sponsorship with Ci zens State Bank & Trust Co., City of Woodbine, KVK Inc., and TCT; will be hos ng a Fireworks show on July 4 (rain date — Saturday, July 5). W.O.W. concession stand will open at 7pm with proceeds going to support the Halloween supper and Easter egg hunt. Come for hamburgers, hot dogs, beans, chips, cookies, pop and water. The Jolly Jayhawkers 4-H club will have kids games and train rides at 7:30pm. The fi reworks show will start at dusk.

Council Grove’s Old Fashioned 4th of July Celebra on will be held on Friday, July 3, at the Swimming Pool Park. Join in on a Free Swim, Live Music, and a Community Cook-Out. For more informa on call Council Grove City Hall at 620-767-5417.
