I participated in the first-ever mindfulness meditation retreat for law students, or law retreat, in October 1998 while a student in the LL.M. program at the Yale Law School. I subsequently served as the part-time Director of the Law Program from 1999-2001 and currently am a consultant to the program. The views expressed in this essay are mine alone and do not necessarily reflect the views of theCenter for Contemplative Mind in Society. The Law Program and law retreats are cited throughout Riskin\rquote s article.
