We provide design, drafting and visualisation to best communicate the conceptual intent to meet our Clients’ needs. Layout design, space planning, furniture selection, lighting design, fabrics and colours are all amalgamated to ensure every detail achieves perfection.

To aid our Clients, we usually prepare two 3D models of our design to provide a realistic view of how the final product will look.

Our 3D images will take into consideration the chosen colours, the lighting in the room and every detail that can be included.

Additional 3D images can be provided depending on the complexity of the project and detailing.

Our design team also get involved in the procurement of fittings (light fixtures, appliances, etc) and can call upon their expertise for the colour choices and co-ordination.

Over the years, we have perfected the English Countrystyle. However, we are able to create a more contemporary finish to suit every Clients’ taste.

Small details…our approach to design and cabinet making is one of simplicity – your furniture must be practical, functional and aesthetically pleasing.

Some cabinetry details may include:

Drawers on runners within base cabinets and larder units making stored items easier to reach.

Cutlery, knife and spice separators within drawers. Oak racks and sliding trays in corner cabinets for easier access.

Whatever the requirement and specification, all our cabinetry is designed and manufactured to be fit for purpose.

We also offer hand painted and sprayed finish options.

Our team can achieve the desired finish and guide you through the colour selection process.

At Symes, we take pride in offering our Clients a bespoke, high quality handcrafting joinery service, designed and manufactured to fit your spaces, requirements and wishes.

We will work with you to make all the joinery functional and fit for purpose.

For painted kitchens we use mainly tulipwood. Preferred woods for unpainted cabinets are oak and walnut.

We provide Concertina door ‘hideaways’ on counter tops to conceal blenders, toasters and food mixers etc. whilst allowing them to remain plugged in.

Our products are made to measure and our stand alone pieces, such as larders, dressers and linen presses can have glass or solid fronted doors and drawers.

Storage SolutionsAt Symes, we offer our clients the opportunity to create storage units in all sorts of shapes and sizes.

As we manufacture all our units in our workshop, nothing is impossible.

Whether it is a pipe, a skewed corner or awkward shape, we can always manufacture a unit that fits the space and provides you with additional storage.

BedroomsMaster bedrooms, spare bedrooms or children’s bedrooms. They are all a challenge and we love challenges!

Most of our commissioned work is for wardrobes and dressing rooms, however we have a good number of commissions for themed children’s bedrooms. If your child wants a castle or a car garage with built in storage, folding desk and other fantastic gadgets, then give us a call. Our designers love nothing more than to be let loose on a themed room design.

If on the other hand, you want to refurbish your master bedroom then we can help too.

Media UnitsWhat better way to hide the game consoles, Sky boxes, DVD players, speakers and their relevant cables than having a media unit with sliding shelves?

Our various deisgn options cater for hiding all your media equipment. The same solution can be used for other options, like sliding walls.

Bath, shower or wetroom? That is the key question.

We can help with the layouts and design, choice of sanitaryware, finish and lighting and then refit the bathroom to your final choices.

We always work with respectable plumbers although we can also work with your preferred plumbers.

These “back of house” areas are becoming increasingly sought after in homes nowadays.

Whether you have an allocated room or a space in a corridor, we can design the cabinetry to suit your needs and space. The finish can also reflect the surrounding environment, being either a standard cabinet door or a hidden panel on push catches (no handles) finished like the walls.

Internal compartments can be designed to fit specific items and can also hide washing machines and tumble driers.

Bench seats with removable seats and backs can be created to offer more storage space.

As we offer a bespoke solution, every space can be turned into extra utility areas.

OrangeryOrangeries are becoming a popular alternative to a home extension as the partnership of a substantial structure together with the luxury of outdoor living is often the ideal combination. Moreover our Orangeries are a great way of maximising natural light through a roof lantern and look equally attractive in both traditional and contemporary residences.

Although conservatories and Orangeries are considered very similar and an Orangery is technically a form of conservatory, Orangeries tend to be built with more substantial proportions and include a semi-solid roof.

Bespoke Orangeries tend to be built with more brickwork or wooden sections, usually with full height pillars creating a feeling of luxury and can sometimes blend better with a property, whereas conservatories are still seen more as a garden room due to the large amount of glass they use.

From the second you contact Symes about having a bespoke Orangery designed and built, we will guide you through the process from initial consultation about your project, through the building regulations and planning permissions involved in building a timber orangery to the final design, installation and aftercare of your new luxury orangery.

OutdoorThere is nothing that provides greater levels of fun, exercise, excitement and beaming smiles than a climbing frame in your garden. But what can you do in the space available? You choose…

We will design and build a frame that will fit perfectly in the space you have. Whatever the shape of your garden – tight spots, round trees, under branches, over trampolines and down slopes – we will make sure to design a frame to suit your requirements, children’s desires and constraints.

Our design will be the best possible solution for your family, garden size and budget. Whether you have space for one tower, two or three, we will find a solution to fit all of your wishes and expectations. We will include bridges, dens, decks and covered areas with access available for children (and grown-ups) of all ages.

The frames will come in pre-manufactured panels and erected on site by our team. Our frames will have all the accessories, such as wavy slides, climbing walls, swings, scramble nets, monkey bars, ladders, fireman’s pole, zip wire and much more. All accessories meet BS/EU standards and are procured from authorised suppliers.

Your children’s safety is of paramount importance to us and European safety standards determine how we make and install our equipment.

All of our climbing frames are bespoke, made to order and installed by our own team so you can be confident that you will get what you want, with every aspect of your children’s safety and adventurous imagination taken into account.

Bespoke ItemsWe are increasing our product range and some of the items we have are play beds and play tables. Although standard sizes need to be adhered to, there are variances that we can work to accommodate special requirements.

Commercial

Although most of our work is in residential projects, sometimes we get the opportunity to work in commercial outlets, being an office refurb, furniture in a bar or restaurant or creating a feature wall.

We usually work with Clients’ designers but we also carry out our own designs, generally with the focus being on maximising space and making a “wow” statement.

On most of the items we manufacture, we provide samples to show finish and specific features.
