Recommended Reading (Books and Websites) List: A number of workshop participants have requested a recommended reading list. For this reason I have endeavored to compile a limited list containing books and websites. I have cited the chapters or sections from each which I believe will be the most applicable to concepts that we will discuss during the workshop. Although familiarity with these resources will be helpful it is by no means a requirement for the workshop since we will be addressing much of this information during the workshop in a greater or lesser degree as it is needed. For more detailed information on each book including how to purchase them, visit their websites, or download some of them for free, please visit the “Recommended Books and Websites” section of my website here: http://www.douglasflynt.com/recommended_books_and_websites.html -Douglas Flynt Regarding the Subject of Drawing: The Practice and Science of Drawing by Harold Speed: Chapter III – Vision Chapter IV – Line Drawing Chapter V – Mass Drawing Chapter VII – The Study of Drawing Chapter VIII – Line Drawing: Practical The Artist’s Complete Guide to Figure Drawing by Anthony Ryder: Chapter Two – The Block-In Regarding the Subjects of Color and Paint Mixing: A Grammar of Color: A Basic Treatise on the Color System of Albert H.
