President’s Letter to theCommunity It's Election time. The Regency Oaks Civic Associationneeds people to run for the ROCA Board of Directors, assistthe Nomination Committee in finding candidates, and/orbe Vote Counters. Yes, these are all thankless jobs but nec-essary for the betterment of our community. The last chanceto nominate people for the board will be at the NovemberGeneral Meeting. The election is held in December.

Here is an update report on the issues affectingour Community:~The Hernando Public Works Department worked on ourflooding issues. They removed truckloads of dirt from theDrainage Retention Area (DRA) on the north side ofBreakwater opposite the Clubhouse. As of this writing, theystarted cleaning out the silt, muck, and dirt from the drainpipes. They will be putting down sod on the area near theDRA and the right of way where the erosion was. I am try-ing to get them to repair the erosion damage they causedon our property but have not been successful, yet.

~Bill Johnson has procured and installed LED lighting inthe clubhouse. He is working on rewiring and installingdimmer switches for the ceiling LED lights. This will great-ly enhance the atmosphere in the clubhouse during events.

~The Ladies AUX is reenergized, calling all Ladies to getinvolved.

Instructions:Arrange racks in upper and lower thirds of oven; preheat to 250°.Butter a 13x9x2-inch baking dish; set aside. Scatter cornbread ina single layer on 2 rimmed baking sheets. Bake, stirring often androtating sheets halfway through, until dried out, about 1 hour. Letcool. Transfer to a very large mixing bowl.

Meanwhile, cook sausage in a large skillet over medium-highheat, breaking up into 1/2-inch–1-inch pieces with a woodenspoon, until browned, 8-10 minutes. Transfer to bowl with corn-bread but do not stir.

Heat 3/4 cup butter in same skillet; add onions and celery andcook, stirring often, until softened and just beginning to brown, about 10 minutes. Add to cornbread in bowl.

Return skillet to heat. Add vinegar; cook, scraping up brownedbits from bottom of pan, for 1 minute. Pour into bowl with corn-bread. Gently fold in 1 1/2 cups broth, pecans, if using, parsley, sage, rosemary, and thyme. Add salt and pepper. Let cool.

Preheat oven to 350°. Whisk 1 1/2 cups broth and eggs in a smallbowl. Fold gently into cornbread until thoroughly combined, tak-ing care not to mash cornbread (mixture will look wet).
