Head to Central Station, approximately 8 kilometers (5 miles) from Ushuaia, for an unforgettable trip on the Tierra del Fuego Southern Railway. The Museo Mundo Yámana is a small private museum that, through impressive dioramas and other displays, explores traditional life up to and including the first contact with Europeans. The museum is located at 56 Presidente Bernardino Rivadavia, approximately 1 kilometer (0.6 miles) from the cruise pier.

Beagle Channel: Named after Charles Darwin’s ship Beagle, the channel is a strait that forms the border between Chile and Argentina at its eastern end. Close to Ushuaia, two of the most famous islands are Isla de Los Lobos with its impressive sea lion colony, and Isla de Los Pájaros, which is a birdwatcher’s paradise. The only way to see the best of the Beagle Channel is by boat trip, and several operators are located near the cruise pier.
