Introductions were made by everyone attending. 4.1 Adoption of Agenda Ryan Smotra motioned to adopt agenda as presented, however he asked to move up elections because he had to be out or meeting by 9:00 a.m. Seconded by Norma Derksen. Carried. 4.2 Adoption of Minutes Mario Cassano motioned to adopt minutes as presented, seconded by Darren Maruska. Carried. 4.3 Business Arising from Minutes 1. point 3.2 should read adoption of minutes, not agenda 2. Ryan mentioned that as requested his chair report is longer this time 3. Kevin Hendriks motioned and Mario Cassano seconded that RSC request that the SCSA have someone present at the RSPC/NAOSH committee meetings. Loy Gursky mentioned that she will be attending all meeting she can and that her Senior advisor Sebastian Marktanner will be attending all other meetings if possible. 4. Question came up about minutes not being posted till after next meeting. Loy Gursky informed everyone that it is like that because the minutes are not adoped till next

4.0 Call to Order – Ryan Smotra called the meeting to order @ 7:43. meeting at which time they are posted. Suggestion was made to post a draft version earlier for review. Motioned by Norma Derksen, seconded by Alan Douglas. Carried. 4.4 Reports

Fall Pro Industry Committee update CSSE meeting @ Turvey Center today at 11:45 if interested 43 Annual Safety Seminar

4.4.2 SCSA Update - Sebastian Marktanner presented the SCSA Update to the group. Topics included Annual Safety Awards, SCSA Website updates, Changes to the CSO Program, and 2016 WCB Preliminary Rates for B Rate. He also mentioned that the 2016 desktop calendars with new RSC dates would be out by January meeting.

4.5 New Business

4.5.1 Elections Chairperson – Loy Gursky called for nominations for Chairperson. Wade McCulla nominated Ryan Smotra and Mario Cassano nominated Darren Maruska. Both accepted the nominations. Ballots were used for election process. After careful count it was Ryan Smotra that was re-elected to Chairperson. Vice-Chairperson – Loy Gursky called for nominations. Ryan Smotra nominated Dwayn Rogowski, and Greg Schreiner nominated Darren Maruska. Both accepted nominations. After ballets were counted Darren Maruska was the winner for Vice-Chairperson Position. Worker Representative – Loy Gursky called for nominations. Ryan Smotra nominated Blair Lynas, no other nominations were made. Blair was absorbed to the position without use of ballots.

4.5.2 Tool Box Talk – Sebastian Marktanner presented the SCSA toolbox talk on Safe Work Practices. 4.5.3 Prime Contractor Discussion – Ryan Smotra led discussion including:

General talk and update

Who it applies to in the field

Duties of Prime contractor

Duties of Employers

Ryan also offered help to anyone needing it , he has lots of experience with Prime in several provinces and will share info.

4.5.4 Discussion Items – Milayna Goruick informed everyone that starting December 1st, 2015 The queens printer will be charging more for Acts and Regs. Ground penetrating radar, good for liability, does not protect worker Gas leak at new build, worker went above and beyond to evacuate site and keep people out. 4.5.5 NAOSH Update – Greg Schreiner gave update to group about what the RSPC has been doing. Letter have gone out.

4.6 Date of next Meeting – Thursday, January 14, 2016 4.7 Adjournment – Dwayne Maruska moved to adjourn the meeting @9:40.

By sharing the information about the incident, it’s causes and the corrective action that was put in place; we can elevate safety within our entire industry. If you know of an incident that you think that others would benefit from knowing about, please fill out the incident report form below. Then provide the information by:

1. Dropping it into the anonymous reporting box at the next Regional Safety Committee Meeting 2. E-mailing it back to [email protected] (your identity or company identity will not be revealed to

anyone other than the owner of that e-mail address). 3. Fax it back to 306-525-1542 (the identity of the sender will be as confidential as they wish to make it). All submissions will be read as part of the incident discussion at the next regional safety committee meeting, without revealing the source.
