Regional Economic Development Alliances (REDAs) bring together Alberta municipalities, communities and businesses to leverage regional opportunities for shared success.

By coordinating resources, REDA members improve local capacity to attract and retain investments. This results in increased economic sustainability and a shared economic vision of the future.

Regional Economic Development Alliances Partnered for Success

REDAs established the Eastern Alberta Trade Corridor to promote transportation links between Alberta, the Western United States and Mexico, and to highlight opportunities in Eastern Alberta’ s energy, manufacturing, agriculture, defense and aerospace sectors.

REDAs help communities develop a shared vision of the future to achieve prosperity in geographically defined areas.

Established in 1998, there are 11 REDAs today representing over 215 communities and more than 40 associate members.

REDAs are engaged in a renewed mandate to build partnerships, drive regional economic development planning and strengthen community capacity to retain business, attract new investment and leverage regional resources.

I have discovered that membership in a REDA is like speaking through a

megaphone; suddenly the voice of my small community is just as loud as the

voice of a large municipality, because we all speak as one.“ “REDAs leverage up to nine dollars for every one spent by members towards economic development activities and projects in their regions.
