Dublin • Population growth has been concentrated primarily within Zone 2. • The Dublin Gateway is ahead of the Gateway average in terms of new firm formation, as well as

supporting a dominant proportion of the national services base. • Highest levels of walking, cycling and use of public transport out of all the Gateways• Lowest number of people who live within 30 minutes of their work place out of all the Gateways • Highest rating on the accessibility index• Highest number of households with private access to broadband • The percentage of people who hold third level qualifications within the Gateway is above the

average for all Gateways. • There has been significant dis-improvement in the amount of water sources within the Gateway

which are on the EPA RAL; it was also behind the national average and required target in terms of the proportion of waste which was recovered in 2010.

• The overall rate of affluence has gone up slightly since 2006 which has been driven primarily by the increase which has taken place in Zone 1.
