What is a Walk for Water?

A Walk for Water is:• An awareness event that shines the spotlight on the

global water crisis• A fundraising event that provides safe water

solutions to those in need through Water Mission's work around the world

Why should we host a Walk?

Hosting a Walk for Water offers our organization:• A tangible way to make a difference• An opportunity to cultivate leaders• An avenue for distributors, vendors, local media,

and other partners to join us as sponsors• An opportunity to strengthen our community

through team work

Why have a Leadership Team? • The Leadership Team will develop and cast the vision for

our Walk. • With more leaders invested, the excitement around our

Walk will spread!• Having multiple committees allows us to divide the

responsibilities in a manageable way.• The committee structure is flexible and depends on our

event objectives.

General Planning Timeline 6 MONTHS OUT• Set a Leadership Team meeting schedule.• Create event web page so that participants can register.• Secure site location and set date of event.• Develop a financial plan and fundraising goals.

3 MONTHS OUT• Hold a Kick-Off event in our community.• Recruit sponsors and establish fundraising teams.• Plan details to ensure a successful event.• Promote enthusiastically!
