Zumba and Imagination Theatre $12 per class Thurs, 10am-11 amParents can Zumba in one room while your little one (ages 3-5) becomes a Broadway star in another. Talk about multi-tasking! You deserve a little “me” time and this is a great way to get fit as your child learns songs and dances from Broadway shows.

Laura Numeroff’s Story Starters $155 Preschool Mon-Fri, 9 am-12 pmWe know what happens when you give a mouse a cookie, but what happens when you give the kids a story? Their imagination is the limit as they craft their own adventure and develop stories based on Lara Numeroff’s charming stories for children.

Adventures in Wonderland $155 Grades K-1 Mon-Fri, 9 am-12 pm Grades 2-4 Mon-Fri, 1-4 pm Join Alice and friends for a trip down the rabbit hole – it will lead you right to STAGES as we sing and dance to your favorite songs from ALICE AND WONDERLAND. This whimsical camp will include crafting and a very special Un-Birthday Party!

Acting Studio: Hunger Games $155 Grades 5-8 Mon-Fri, 1-4 pmYour Tribute will explore the 12 Districts of Panem and beyond with the goal to unite towards a common goal. Students will use their brains instead of their brawn to create a team and stand up for what’s right. This one week intensive will focus on character development though themed team-building exercises. Students will learn how to make strong choices, supported by the text, which will help them relate emotionally on the stage. May the odds be ever in your favor.

Broadway Babies $155 Preschool Sat, 9-10 amIntroduce your budding star to the fun of musical theatre! Students will receive fundamental training in acting, singing, and dancing in this active class which cultivates an early appreciation for the musical theatre arts.

Sleeping Beauty Ballet $155 Preschool Tues, 5-6 pm Grades K-1 Weds, 5-6 pmDance the way you did once upon a dream! Students will learn basic ballet positions and motor skills including pliès jetes, and chaines. Vocal: Contemporary Broadway $155 Grades 5-8 Sat, 11 am-12 pm Grades 9-12 Sat, 11 am-12 pmSing your favorite songs from the hottest shows on Broadway: RENT, SPRING AWAKENING, WICKED, AVENUE Q, NEXT TO NORMAL and THE LAST FIVE YEARS. In addition to learning these contemporary hits, students will have the opportunity to record in a professional recording studio!

Audition Class $155 Grades 5-8 Weds, 6:30-7:30 pm Grades 9-12 Weds, 7:30-8:30 pmFirst impressions are lasting. Learn the ins and outs of audition technique in this acting course. Students will learn audition etiquette, hone their monologue skills, jump into scene work, and develop their cold reading skills. This class will give you that extra edge when going for that dream role.

Acting: Improv $155 Grades 9-12 Thurs, 6-7 pm Give your imagination a blast of Second City spontaneity as you focus on your ability to react and listen truthfully and explore the physical and vocal creation of character. If you’ve ever watched Saturday Night Live, you would know improvisation requires quick thinking, strong choices, investment, and the ability to let loose and laugh a little.

ADULT CLASSES

TeamSTAGES is a professionally trained traveling troupe of the region’s most talented and diverse young performers. The troupe presents authentic a cappella musical revues at events and venues around St. Louis. Their performances entertain and educate both young and adult audiences with various art forms from musical theatre to jazz, to pop. Auditions for the 2014-2015 school year will be held in April of 2014, for students ages 13-17. For more information check the website stagesstlouis.org or the Academy front desk.

SPRING SHOWCASES Students enrolled in our full-year classes will have the opportunity to perform in our annual spring showcases May 3 - 4. Specfic times and locations will be announced at the beginning of the spring semester. Check with the academy for more details.

SUMMER CAMPS Summer camps and classes for ages preschool through adult will begin June 9. Specific classes and times will be announced in May.

SPECIALTY PROGRAMS In addition to weekly classes at the Academy, STAGES offers several workshops and unique programs including themed birthday parties, Scout workshops, and our free interactive monthly reading and activity program, Stories@STAGES for young children.
