Notes for Andrew Jackson Sisk Jr.:General Notes: A. J. SISK, Sr., county judge, was born November 27, 1824, in Hopkins County, Ky. He is a son of Andrew andMary Sisk. The father was born in North Carolina, and the mother in Virginia, and were of English origin. Theycame to Kentucky about 1815, and settled in what is now Hopkins County. The father served in the war of 1812,and participated in the battle of Tippecanoe; he also represented Hopkins County three terms in the legislature,and four years in the State senate--this district then comprising the counties of Union, Hopkins and Henderson.He died in the fall of 1857, aged sixty-seven. The mother died in 1854, aged sixty-four. Judge Sisk was reared onhis father's farm, and at the age of twenty-two commenced farming on land which he inherited; in 1852 he waselected constable and served four years; he then served four years as deputy sheriff and in 1866 was electedsheriff and served four years; in 1870 he was elected county judge, served eight years, and in 1882 was againelected county judge, which position he still honorably fills. He was married in April, 1848, to

Notes for Jane Marie Sellers:General Notes: Jane McBroom MOUNT VERNON, Ind. - Jane Marie (Sellers) McBroom, age 79, formerly of Evansville, passed away Saturday, May 17, 2008, at her Indianapolis residence. She was born May 20, 1928, in Sebree, Ky., daughter of the late Henry Mattison and Effie Marie (Littlepage) Sellers. Jane was a 1946 graduate of Reitz High School and manager of Edison Brothers in Evansville and transferred to the Indianapolis store where she retired in 1991 after 31 years of service.

She was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters, Joy Schmidt and Nina Sellers, and two brothers, William Sellers and Paul Sellers.

Jane is survived by her daughter and her son-in-law, Marie and Jim Russell of Lawrenceburg, Ind.; her son, Robert McBroom of Indianapolis; her only grandchild, Ryan (Marie E.) Russell; and her three great-grandchildren, Sara, Megan and Spencer Russell. She is also survived by her five sisters, Faye Dority, Helen Cox, Wanda (Ted) North, Mary Lou Ludden, and Sue (Jerry) Reid, all of Evansville; her brother, Donald (Kay) Sellers of Indianapolis; her sister-in-law, Betty Sellers of Mount Vernon; her brother-in-law, Paul Schmidt of Churubusco, Ind.; and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral service will be held 1 p.m. Wednesday, May 21, 2008, at Schneider Funeral Home, 512 Main Street, Mount Vernon, with Rev. Matt Watson officiating and burial to follow at Springdale Cemetery in Sebree, Ky.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m. service time on Wednesday at the funeral home.
