28. INTERNATIONAL FILM CRITICS WEEK REGULATIONS 2013

Art. 1

The 28. Settimana Internazionale della Critica (SIC) – 28.

International Film Critics’ Week will be held in Venice

during the 70. Venice Film Festival, 2013. The International

Film Critics’ Week is promoted, organized and managed

by the Sindacato Nazionale Critici Cinematografici Italiani

(SNCCI) - National Union of Italian Film Critics, in

association with La Biennale di Venezia and the Venice

Film Festival.

Art. 2

In order to be eligible for the 28. International Film Critics’

Week, the submitted films must:

already realised full-length documentaries will also be

accepted);

(DCP);

• have been produced and completed in the 12

months before the festival (between Venice 69 and

Venice 70);

be made for non-European films distributed in their

country of origin after September 2012);

• not have been released on the internet or made

available online.

Art. 3

The General Delegate, Francesco Di Pace assisted by film

critics Nicola Falcinella, Giuseppe Gariazzo, Anna Maria

Pasetti, and Luca Pellegrini, all appointed by the SNCCI,

will select a maximum of seven full-length films to take part

in the competition. Their judgment is final.

Art. 4

Screeners of submitted films can either be in Italian,

French, English or Spanish. Alternatively, they can be

dubbed or subtitled in one of the above-listed languages.

In any other case, the submitted works must be

accompanied by a dialogue list in one of the above-

mentioned languages. All submitted works must be

accompanied by information material about the film, its

director(s) and production as required by the submission

form available at www.sicvenezia.it from April 1st, 2012. A

detailed synopsis either in Italian, English, French or

Spanish is also required.

Art. 5

All films submitted for selection must be received no later

than 5th July, 2013.

Screeners (preferably DVD) must be sent:

Art. 6

All shipment costs for submission of screening, information and

photographic materials must be covered by the applicant.

No shipment cost from and/or back to any country will be

covered by the Festival neither for submission or, if selected,

for official screening purposes. Protection against any harm

caused to the selected films in unloading and screening is

guaranteed by an "all risks" policy stipulated by the Festival

and covering the period in which the prints remain with the

Festival. The 70. Venice Film Festival also assumes responsibility

for care and custody of films during the entire period of the

Festival or until the films are returned to the owner.

All films selected for the 28. International Film Critics’ Week are

eligible to take part in the additional screenings programme

promoted by our sponsor Regione Veneto and organised

after the end of the 70. Venice Film Festival (unless differently

authorized by the General Delegate and/or Management

Office of the International Film Critics’ Week). The

producer/international distributor is required and responsible

to inform any existing and/or potential buyer/distributor

regarding such additional screenings. It should thus be

assumed that the prints will be returned only after the

completion of the programme of additional screenings (no

later than October 31st, 2013).

Art. 7

All selected films must be presented at the Festival in their

original version with Italian subtitles on print/DCP. Films in

Italian must be subtitled in English on print/DCP. The

production/distribution is responsible for covering the

subtitling costs.

the SNCCI.

Art. 11

Any issue not covered by these regulations must be settled by

the practice and regulations of the 70. Venice Film Festival.
