WhatIsRemoteViewing? In the early 1970's the US intelligence community was worried about longtime rival

So,what is this remarkable thingcalled remoteviewing?Howdoes itwork? It iseasy to

protocols.

Skepticismcandiminish remoteviewing results, although some skepticsvisiting Stanford
Research Institutewereput to the teston the spotand to theiramazement found itdid

Next, a cooldownmay help such as a short period of relaxationormeditation. Some
viewers use CD's specially designed to foster certain brain rhythms, particularly theta
rhythms.Nodrugsareused,norhypnosis.Theviewerisawakeandusuallyhashis/hereyes

Therearetwobroadapproachestopracticalremoteviewing(asopposedtoviewinginthe

The other approach uses one of several highly structured methods. The predominant
methodwasthatdevelopedbytheStanfordResearchInstituteandIngoSwannandiscalled
CoordinateRemoteViewing(CRV). AlaterbranchwastermedControlledRemoteViewing,
and there are other variants as well. Others methods include SRV (Scientific Remote

Inpractice,therearevariousfactorswhichmayleadaviewer'sconsciousmindtosurmise
somethingabouttheobjective.Ataskermaybeknownorsuspectedtoselectcertainkinds
ofobjectives, forexample. But thegoal is tokeep theviewer"blind" tothe target. If the
viewerknowsanythingspecificabouttheobjective,he issaidtobe"frontloaded".This is
not
desirable
because
accurate
remote
viewing
data
does
not
come
from
the
conscious
mindbut from somewhereelse referred tovariouslyas thesubconscious, unconscious,
Jung'sCollectiveUnconscious,theMatrix,theAkashicrecords,andthelike.
The taskermay also be blind to the targetorhe/shemay have some knowledgeof the
target.Forexample,thetaskermayknowwhotheclientisandwhattheclientislikelytobe

whereavaluableobject,howtosolveacertainproblem. Inanycase,thetaskerdoesnot
communicatethisinformationtotheviewers.
Theremaybeaseparateanalystwhoanalyzesthedata,orthetaskermaydosohimself.
Theremay ormay not be a separate ProjectManager. There is debate in the field and
varying practices about setting up and doing remote viewing, whether for clients or for
practice.Thereisinfactdifferenceofopinionaboutvirtuallyeveryaspectofremoteviewing
andhowitiscarriedout.(Wewillnotenterintothatdebatehere,butwillsetforwardour

Usingthemorestructuredmethodology,theviewerthushasonlythe8digitalphanumeric
togoon.Aftercoolingdown, theviewerusually reads the tag (as it iscalled)aloud, and
makes a quick small "scribble" on the page. This is usually one of a predefined set of
graphic marks called the ideogram. One set of ideograms uses basic lines for water,
mountain,land,structure,subject,etc.Waterorliquidisawavyline,drawnveryquickly.A
mountain or/peaked shape is the obvious ^ shape. Land or a flat surface is a straight
horizontal line. These ideogramsare thought to contain someorpossiblyall information
abouttheobjective, inminiatureorembryo,as itwere.However,remoteviewingmaybe
practiced successfully without ideograms as done by Joe McMoneagle and Gary
Langford (the latter an early coworker at Stanford Research Institute). The tag may be
repeatedduring the session, gettinganew impressionof the siteeach time. The viewer
thenusesothertechniqueswhicharebeyondthescopeofthispiecetoproducegraphicand
verbal data relevant to the objective. It is not an easy process and takes considerable
training.Some,like LynBuchanan,refertoitasamentalmartialart.
Asmentioned,thisdata isvirtuallynever100%accurate.Someuseascoringmethodand
claim accuracy rates from 60% to 80% or above. However, others do not use a scoring
method,foravarietyofreasons.Forexample,somedata issymbolicormetaphoricaland
suchdataisveryhardtoscoreobjectively.

The viewerwill then do her session, generally taking between 15minutes and 2 hours,
dependingonthemethod,typeofobjective,importanceoftheobjective, viewer'sstamina,
orotherfactors.
Once done, the session is then sent to the analyst or projectmanager. Remote viewing
worksbestwitha teamofviewersand theanalystmay retask several timesand receive

Theanalystthenscrutinizesthedatausingskillsandmethodsdeveloped inthatschoolof

so, theyaregivennew tags foreach retasking. They thenmaybe told toutilize specific
techniques or undertake certain maneuvers, such as "View the objective from 100 feet
overhead"or "Move toonehourearlier."Thismayhelp theviewer focus inonwhat the
clientneedstoknowwithouttellingthevieweranythingspecificabouttheobjective.Inthe
military and elsewhere, an additional person, amonitor, has been used to facilitate the
processofexploringtheviewer'sresponses.

Since
Ken

in
Oakland,
he
would
have
the
advantageofbeing able to follow the caseup close. This is not generallypossible since
remote viewersmost often view an objectivewhich is far fromwhere they live, and/or
