Relational Intentionality
God’s main delivery system for the gospel is relationships
between people who have been spiritually transformed by Him and those who have
not.
How many unchurched people do you know well?
We saw last week that God desires for us to be outward
focused group that engages in the ministry of servant love,
evangelism and missions, both locally and globally.
In order for this to happen we must be intentional in
forming relationships with those who are not followers
of Jesus.
Let’s put ourselves in the shoes of those who have never been to church.
1 Peter 4:10-11
God desires to use EVERY follower of Jesus as His
missionary. 1 Peter 4:10a
God gives us the ability to minister to others in His name.
1 Peter 4:10b
We are the stewards of God’s grace. 1 Peter 4:10c
So that God may be glorified in all places.
1 Peter 4:11
So let’s get started being intentional
about our relationships with
unbelievers!
1. Invite people to spend time with us
personally.
2. Invite people to church.
3. Invite people to listen to the gospel
of Jesus in our testimony.
4. Invite people to answer the call of
Jesus.
“Most church people have no space to offer seekers,
so seekers will simply “bounce off” the local
church.” Neal
McGlohon
Let’s create some relational space in our lives for that
person the Lord is sending into our life.
Jesus was the Master at this. He always had time for those
who needed Him.
“All the tax collectors and sinners were approaching to
listen to Him. And the Pharisees and scribes were
complaining, ‘This man welcomes sinners and eats with them!’” Luke 15:1-2
Are you going to follow Jesus or the Pharisees?
“Who is God sending you to this year?”
