Your Wish...

This is your task...

There are a few tasks for you to do.1. Decide. Do you think you can prove to your teachers that you can find reliable resources on the internet? If not, there is no point for you to go further.2. Teach. Before you convince, teach your fellow classmates how to look for accurate websites.3. Convince. Show your teachers how much you know! Don't be afraid, and give it all you got. Your teachers will give you more time on the internet, and hopefully, you won't have to take hours looking for information in books.

These are some websites that will help you to determind if the websites you wish to view are reliable and safe, and they are also useful sites to determine the validity of a website’s information. Who has written the information?

When you first look at a website, first, you need to check who has written it. Anyone that has access to the internet can make a website, and say that they are an expert on the subject, but that doesn't necessarily mean that it is true. Look for information and clues, to see if the author, or writer is really qualified to say the things, they have.

Does the site achieve its aims?

A website may be very good at stating its aims but,if it does not do what it says it will, then it will be little of use to you.So look carefully for the site's aims, ans try and judge if it achieve your aims.

Page 9: Reliable Resources

Are the aims of the site clear?A good site will tell you who it is for, what it will tell you about and what it is trying to do.These are the site aims. This will help you decide whether or not it is worth looking at the rest of the site. Websites are created for lots of different reasonssuch as:• To provide you with different bits of information.• To educate you• To give you links to other places• To put you in touch with other people.

Is the site revelant to me?

A good website will be useful to the people it has aimed at.If a site does not fit your needs then it is of no use to you(Although of coure it may be useful to somebody else.) In order to know if the site is revelant you need to establish what you know before hand. If the aims are not clear, look at the title or the section headings. Do these tell you what each part is about? Are you likely to find your answers here?
