In Your Sketchbook: Use the Internet and Art History books to choose and

compile a list of 10-12 famous works of art that you like, admire, find interesting, etc. Be sure to include the artist name & title of the piece

These works could be paintings, sculptures, or even other photographs, and they could be from any period in history.

Research those famous works of art in greater depth and choose THREE final pieces that you will recreate.

NOTE: Be sure these are famous works of art! Use reputable websites, not Google Images. See next slide for some good websites…

In Your Sketchbook: Find good quality images of your final 3 works…

print the 3 images and put into your sketchbook include the artist name, title of the piece, year it was

created, and the medium used to create it AND upload them to google drive!

Generate a list of characteristics of each piece. For example: woman wearing blue scarf and pearl earring, dark background, etc. DO THIS FOR EACH IMAGE!

Plan your own photography… Look back at your description above and plan how you will interpret each characteristic in your own work. Consider switching up elements Think about different props, models, etc. Your plans should be SPECIFIC!!!

Set Up & Take Your Photos: Shoot a series of new pictures (40 image

minimum…the more pictures you take, the more options you will have for dynamic and successful images) that recreate the 3 famous works of art you chose.

Compile and edit your best 3 images and put them in the drop box along with the 3 famous works of art you saved.

Be prepared to share your images with the class in a final critique!

Due Dates:Sketchbook: (30 points)* See previous pages for specific details! Due Thursday, Feb. 19

40 Images: (40 points) Due Wednesday, Feb. 25

Your Own 3 Final Images: (100 points) Due Friday, Feb. 27
