University Information Technology Services UITS offers remote sensing support on a case by case basis.
• Example: In 2005 UITS created and supported ArcIMS/ArcSDE services for the U.S. Forest Service.
UITS has been focusing on archiving the 2005 Orthophotography Project Datasets and providing ArcSDE and ArcIMS services for this data.
The website http://gis.iu.edu describes the Indiana Spatial Data Portal (ISDP) and Indiana Spatial Data Services (ISDS).
UITS has provided some local, county, state, and federal groups database connections to ISDS ArcSDE services.
UITS also stores some local datasets on our massive data storage system (MDSS).
UITS prefers archiving high quality data such as 2 ft contours that are available to the general public for download.
UITS staff routinely provides technical support to users downloading data from the ISDP or using the ISDS.
