Teda Leading the way to a green future.Tamil Nadu was the first State in India that had the vision in 1985, toestablish an agency solely devoted to development in the renewable energy sector. TEDA (Tamil Nadu Energy Development Agency), thanks to this foresight has led the country since, in creating many path-breaking measures. TEDA pioneered wind energy in the country and was the first to install WEG (wind energy generators) in India.

MilestonesTamil Nadu has an installed capacity of 7405 MW from renewable s o u r c e s a s a g a i n s t c o u n t r y ' s installed capacity of 21125 MW, which is about 36%.42% 11%

As a share of grid power, renewable energy accounts for 42% of Tamil Nadu Electricity Board's total grid capacity against the national average of 11% only.

Wind powerTamil Nadu is No. 1 in India with an installed capacity of 6531 MW, which is 47% of the total installed capacity in wind in India. . The private investment in wind power exceeds US$ 7 billion while cumulative power generation from wind has exceeded 50 billion units.

Cogeneration & BiomassTamil Nadu is a pioneer in introducing cogeneration in sugar mills and continues to lead with installed capacity of 610 MW with exportable surplus of 310 MW. The installed capacity from biomass is 166.75 MW.

SolarThe solar sector at the exhibition will comprise all three important segments within this sector - Solar PV, Solar CSP and Solar Thermal. Within each, companies will represent the entire value chain. Solar PV will have companies from upstream portions such as polysilicon, ingots, wafers and cells, as well as power plant developers, off grid products etc. The CSP and thermal sections will be represented by component suppliers, power plant developers, solar water heater makers and innovative solution providers for industrial solar drying and heating applications.

WindTamil Nadu is the leading state in wind not just in India but the whole of Asia. Expect all the top wind OEMs to be present here. In addition, this show will also comprise companies from other portions of wind value chain components, support providers etc and innovative and emerging technologies such as vertical axis wind turbines, small wind turbine makers etc.

Biomass Power and Waste to EnergyFor these two fast growing segments, a number of machinery/component suppliers, as well as innovative technology solution providers will be present. For biomass, companies all along the value chain will be present for both gasification and combustion routes.

Companies making efforts at innovations in biomass feedstock supply chain will be present as well. For municipal solid waste to energy, where effective technology is required for sustainable operations, expect some of the worlds leading innovators to be present.

Energy EfficiencyEnergy efficiency is the low hanging fruit within clean technology and the recent government efforts and incentives, including the PAT scheme, have made this sector vibrant. WaterSustainable water management is a key segment of clean technology. Battery & Power SystemsEnergy storage is the Holy Grail of renewable energy. No wonder the amount of research and innovations happening in this segment is tremendous.
