SCHOOL YEAR THAT PROVIDESRIGOROUS INSTRUCTION AND

APPROPRIATE SOCIAL INTERACTIONFOR ALL STUDENTS WHILE

MAINTAINING A SAFE LEARNINGENVIRONMENT FOR ALL MEMBERS OF

THE TITAN COMMUNITY.

CURRICULUM & INSTRUCTION

All Holy Trinity High School students willattend school, in-person everyday. Students will be divided into two separatecohorts. We will be implementing a synchronousschedule for all students.Students in each cohort will attend half oftheir classes in person each day and half oftheir classes remotely from a fixed location inthe school building for the other half of theday.This format will “flip” each day so thatstudents will meet each of their teachers in-person every other day.In order to ensure that students receivescience labs, physical education and danceinstruction in person, we will repeat ourschool days (Day 1A will be followed by Day1B; Day 2A will be followed by Day 2B and soon through Day 6).

Holy Trinity will be offering a remotelearning option for those students who areunable or unwilling to attend in-person classesstarting in September.Parents will be required to complete a remotelearning request form in such cases.Remote learning options will be available on aquarter by quarter basis.Students who are approved for remotelearning will operate under normalparameters with each class meeting in itsassigned time slot with live instructionprovided by a Holy Trinity faculty member.

While we will follow a regular 9 periodschedule each day, modifications to classdismissal and passing time will be made inorder to provide for proper social distancingand disinfecting of spaces.Additional time will be scheduled for passingwhen/if deemed necessary.All curricula will continue to followappropriate standards in order to preparestudents for NYS Regents Exams, AP Examsand the SAT.

SAFETY OF THE SCHOOL COMMUNITY

Temperature checks will be required for anyonewho enters the school building at any time.

Anyone whose temperature is above 100 degreesFahrenheit or is suspected of having Covid-19will be isolated immediately in a specialdesignated area.Additional Covid-19 testing and Contact Tracingwill be conducted in accordance with the NassauCounty Department of Health guidelines.If a student, faculty, or staff member testspositive for Covid-19, Holy Trinity willcoordinate with the Department of Health inorder to determine the appropriate course ofaction. This may include quarantine or isolationof affected individuals or possible closing ofschool for a period of time. In such a case, thiswill be communicated to students, parents, andstaff through school website, email, phone call,and social media.

All hallways will flow in a one-way directionalpattern.Markings throughout the building will remindstudents to maintain proper social distancing.Desks in classrooms will be arranged that everystudent is at least six feet away from every otherstudent.

SAFETY OF THE SCHOOL COMMUNITY

All students, faculty, staff, and visitors will berequired to wear a CDC-approved face coveringwhenever they are moving about the building.

Neck gaiters, open chin triangle bandanas,and costume masks are not allowed.Student face coverings may not include anylogos or images other than an HT.Students and staff will be instructed inproper respiratory hygiene and will bereminded to wash their hands frequently viadaily reminders and signs posted throughoutthe school. Additionally, we will follow allcleaning and sanitizing measures to ensureproper health procedures.

Classroom windows will be left open wheneverweather conditions permit.Classrooms will be provided with hand sanitizerand additional cleaning supplies.All commonly used spaces will be sanitizedthroughout the school day.The school will also be thoroughly cleaned afterschool each day.Daily cleaning schedules and logs will bemaintained by the school maintenance staff.

CAFETERIA

Our Lessing’s run Titan Cafe will be open forlunch each day.Students will be assigned designated seats andwill be a minimum of six feet away from eachother.Boxed lunches will be available to purchaseonline or in person.Parents are encouraged to register theirchildren in Lessing’s EZ Pay  in order to savetime and limit contact.Students will be separated by cohort in thecafeteria.The cafeteria will be sanitized aftereach lunch period.

ARRIVAL/DISMISSAL/TRANSPORTATION

The school building will be open to students at7:15 AM each morning.Students should not arrive before this time.Students arriving between 7:15 and 7:40 mustreport to the cafeteria and be seated in thesection designated for their cohort.At 7:40 students will be dismissed from thecafeteria and report immediately tohomeroom.

ARRIVAL/DISMISSAL/TRANSPORTATION

Students arriving after 7:40 should report tohomeroom immediately upon entering thebuilding.Students being dropped off by car in themorning may enter either the Cherry Lane orNewbridge Road entrance.Students arriving by car after 7:55am mustenter through Cherry Lane.Students leaving by car in the afternoon mustbe picked up on Cherry Lane. Cars should not enter the Newbridge Roadparking lot for afternoon pickup.Students using local school district bussesmust abide by all district and school rulesregarding the wearing of face coverings andsocial distancing. Failure to do so may result in loss of busprivileges.The school building will be closed to studentsat 3:10 pm.  This will allow for thorough cleaning anddisinfection of classrooms and commonspaces.  As extracurricular and athletic policies areupdates, this closing time will be revised.

ACADEMIC INTEGRITY &GRADING

All school policies regarding academicintegrity and plagiarism are in effect and willbe enforced.Students are reminded to review these policiesand understand that they will be enforcedthroughout the school year.Holy Trinity will continue to grade on a 100point scale. For at least the first semester,Physical Education and Dance classes will begraded on a pass/fail basis.

ATTENDANCE

All students, with the exception of studentswho have been approved for the remotelearning option, are expected to be in schooleach day for the entirety of the school day.Students attending live classes should arriveon time for all classes.Students attending remote classes should belogged into such classes no more than 3minutes after the scheduled start of the class.Students failing to login on time will bemarked absent for the class.

ATHLETICS &EXTRACURRICULAR

Holy Trinity will follow all guidelines of theNYSCHSAA regarding athletic events, practices,meetings, games, and tournaments. Accordingly,all athletics at Holy Trinity are currently pauseduntil September 21, 2020. Extracurricularactivities and all after school activities are alsopaused until that date.

BUILDING ACCESS

Building access will be limited until furthernotice.Parents are encouraged to avoid dropping offstudent belongings during the school day.Unannounced or unscheduled visitors will not beallowed access to the school building.Parents must schedule meetings when they needto conduct business at the school.Anyone entering the school building must wear amask at all times.

CALENDARA general calendar will be published for theentire school year.A more specific calendar will be published andupdated on a quarter by quarter basis.

SCHOOL CLOSURE REMOTELEARNING PLAN

In the event that Holy Trinity is required to closefor a period of time, we will implement ourremote learning plan.Students will continue with synchronous classesfollowing the established schedule.This schedule will be evaluated at the end of twoweeks and will be modified if needed.

MENTAL HEALTH ANDSTUDENT SUPPORT

Holy Trinity’s Guidance Department, SocialWorker, and Campus Ministry team will beavailable as they would be during the normalfunctioning of the school.Students will be required to make appointmentsahead of time via email.

GROUP GATHERINGS & OUT-OF-SCHOOL TRIPS

All in-person assemblies, larger events, and fieldtrips will be on pause until further notice.All International Travel is cancelled for the2020-2021 school year
