1) Job Receiving: Job is received from foundry and sub contractors (Precision camshafts. Works) and then sent for further operations.

2) Inspection of raw jobs: Jobs are being inspected for casting defects and then sent to machine shop for further processes.

3) Centering & Facing: In this process raw camshaft is mounted on Centering & Facing machine. Facing and Centering both operations are done on same machine.

4) Turning: Approximate diameter of 46mm is turned on lathe machine on journals of camshaft.

5) Super finishing by CNC: After turning superfinishing is done on the journals of camshaft with the CNC machine with the high tolerance

6) Chamfering: Chamfers of 2 mm are applied on edges of journals of camshaft.

7) Grooving: After chamfering has been done, a groove of radius 2.5mm is produced at the middle of journals.

8) Drilling: After grooving holes are drilled through the camshaft.

9) Internal Grooving: After drilling an internal groove is produced.

10) Inspection: In inspection, inspector examines dimensional accuracy visually and manually with standard gauges. If the dimensions of camshafts are not match with the standard dimensions then they will be rejected.

11) Packing: In packing, the camshafts are packed with the VCI bags and paper tube to prevent from dust particle and moisture.

12)Dispatch: After packing, the camshafts are collected by respective customers by their self transportation vehicles.

The industrial training boosted my practical knowledge and my confidence. In this

period of training I got many good outcomes like;

3) Identification of various types of problems occurred in the industry.

4) Knowledge about the reading and understanding of the demand made by the

customer.

5) Also got information about making plan and process sheet for further

operations.

8) Understanding the various mechanisms and working.

9) Information about various special purpose tools, equipment, instruments

used for various operations.

10) Understood the operations and safety instructions to be kept in my

mind while working.

11) Knowledge about storing and cleaning of the job.

12) Information about the various records to be kept in the industry.

13) Knowledge about billing, purchase and quotation making.

14) Focusing areas where I have to concentrate for improvement of skills

and knowledge.

15) Understanding of the importance of teamwork.

CONCLUSION

The training at PRECISE ENGINEERING Pvt Ltd. was extremely helpful considering,

1) Work experience and knowledge.

2) Implementation of the theoretical knowledge.

3) Getting familiar with the various machines, equipment, special purpose tools

and instructions and operations with inspection.

4) A brief introduction of so many new machines, operations and advance

technology.

5) Aware of machine safety instructions, difficulties and their remedies

occurring while working.

6) The importance of discipline, punctuality and got familiar with industrial

environment.

7) Got to know what exactly is done in various department like marketing,

project management, production etc & which is suitable for me . This

training experience will definitely help in deciding the department of my

choice in future.
