Brief details of the Clean-Up Drive held @ Golgumbaz on 19 th October : Once a green signal to the activity was given by Mr. Ananth Teertha and Ms. Smitha S Kumar at around 2O clock on 19 th October, we started with a small rally around the Golgumbaz Museum holding placards with awareness quotes to keep the monuments clean. This rally involved around 35 students of Prerana School and around 50 volunteers of the NGO - Smriti Foundation and a youth group - LHCO along with ASI, Golgumbaz officials. After that, a small inspirational song was sung in chorus by everyone and then the whole team was divided into groups. These groups spread all over the region with the necessary safety and cleaning stuff provided. Everybody including Golgumbaz Officials and Golgumbaz Cleaning Staff zealously cleaned the litter present over the region and collected them in dustbins. Along with the cleaning, a small message was spread to the people present over there to discourage the littering over the lawns and and make the best use of dust bins. As a mark of assurance from the visitors of that historical monument supporting anti-littering, they put down their signatures on the boards which had been placed for that reason by us. People also shared their ideas on another board assigned for it and there was an overwhelming response from the people for both of these. Smriti Foundation is very thankful to Archaeological Survey of India for providing us such an opportunity wherein we were able to spread the message of anti-littering to the people and now proudly say that we have done our bit to keep the world heritage clean.

    October :

Once a green signal to the activity was given by Mr. Ananth Teertha

and Ms. Smitha S Kumar at around 2O clock on 19th October, we

started with a small rally around the Golgumbaz Museum holding

placards with awareness quotes to keep the monuments clean. This

rally involved around 35 students of Prerana School and around 50

volunteers of the NGO - Smriti Foundation and a youth group - LHCO

along with ASI, Golgumbaz officials. After that, a small inspirational

song was sung in chorus by everyone and then the whole team was

divided into groups. These groups spread all over the region with the

necessary safety and cleaning stuff provided. Everybody including

Golgumbaz Officials and Golgumbaz Cleaning Staff zealously cleaned

the litter present over the region and collected them in dustbins.

Along with the cleaning, a small message was spread to the people

present over there to discourage the littering over the lawns and

and make the best use of dust bins. As a mark of assurance from the

visitors of that historical monument supporting anti-littering, they

put down their signatures on the boards which had been placed for

that reason by us. People also shared their ideas on another board

assigned for it and there was an overwhelming response from the

people for both of these. Smriti Foundation is very thankful to

Archaeological Survey of India for providing us such an opportunity

wherein we were able to spread the message of anti-littering to the

people and now proudly say that we have done our bit to keep the

    world heritage clean.
