NODAL JKC - GCW(A) GUNTUR

JKC ACTIVITIES:

1. Poster Presentation: As part of enhancing the presentation skills, Students were divided into

groups and as a group activity they prepare a poster which includes slogans, message, pictures

on the given topics like Child Labor, Global Warming, Suicides, Deforestation, Forms of

Energies etc. They give the presentation with explanation.


2. Group Discussion: In order to improve the communication skills, Group Discussion for the

students was conducted. Each group consists of 6-8 students and they were given the topics to

discuss.


3. Just A Minute (JAM): Students have to speak at least one minute on the given topic. Topics

related to Current Affairs, Burning Issues, General Topics were given. While doing this

activity it was recorded and showed back to them to evaluate them selves.


4. Role Play: All the students are formed into pairs/groups. Each pair/group was given roles to

play. According to their roles, they performed well. This improves how to communicate and

behave in a particular situation.


5. Project Presentation: Students were formed into groups and as a group activity they prepared

a project work on given topics like Computers, Global Warming, Child Labour, Water

Pollution, Suicides in teenage, Deforestation, Ragging, Biodiversity & Air Pollution. They

explained the concept.


6. Story Telling: To improve the Communication Skills of the JKC Students, a story telling

activity was conducted. Each student has to narrate a story and explain the moral of the story.

And the feedback will be given by the students, so that common mistakes will be corrected.


7. News Paper Reading: News Paper Reading is the regular activity of JKC. Students were given

News papers. They read a particular article for few minutes and later they present the topic so

that their pronunciation, reading, presentation, vocabulary and communication skills will be

improved.


8. Mock Interviews: Mock Interviews are conducted to make prepare the students for

Interviews. Students are playing the roles of Interviewers and Participants so that they will get

the real time interview experience.


9. Out of the Box: Topics were written on the piece of papers (chits) and kept in the Box. Every

Student picked up the chit and has to speak on the topic which is written on the chit. After

every speech feed was given.


10. JKC Alumni: Alumni would be a wonderful platform for the students who completed their

training. JKC past students will act as Mentors by taking classes to the current batch students

and guide them to achieve their goals. JKC Alumni works with the concept ‘Each one – Teach

one’.


11. Class Room Seminars: Seminars are conducted for the students on the topics which are

already covered in the class by the Mentors. This activity improves their Listening, Speaking,

Reading and Writing Skills.


12. Interview Skills Special Class: Special Classes were conducted to impart the skills of how to

prepare for the interview, what are the Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs), DO’s and

DONT’s, Body Language, Self Introduction etc.


13. Picture Description: Pictures of renowned persons, leaders, politicians, scientists and some

situational pictures were given to students. They have to understand the picture and describe

about the picture. This activity improves their understanding, Speaking and Communication

Skills.


14. Public Speaking: Students have made to speak on any topic in front of a large gathering, So

that they can overcome fear & shyness. This activity plays vital role in improving their

communication skills and confidence.


15. Dialogues: Students were given situations and in a particular situation how to speak will be

learnt through this activity.


16. Conversation Practice: Students were given situations and in a particular situation how to

speak will be learnt through this activity.


17. Public Demand: As part of Communication Games Public Demand activity is planned. All

the students will be made into two groups and one group selects a person from other group and

given a topic. Once the student performs the task he/she selects the person from other group

and gives the topic. This activity improves Communication Skills.


18. Hot Seat: Hot Seat activity is planned as part of Communication Skill Games. All the

students will be made into two groups and one person from one group sits in the chair and

other group writes a word on the board. The group has to describe about the word in sentences

so that he can identify the word.


19. Finding an Object: This activity is one the best Communication Skill Games. A student hides

an object in his fist. The remaining students have to find out the object by asking him

questions. This improves framing of sentences, questions and communication skills


20. Quiz: Quiz activity is conducted as part of the JKC Curriculum.


20. TISS JKC: As per the instructions of JKC Monitoring Cell we started Certificate Course in

‘English Speaking Skills for Better Employment’. Total 56 students registered for this course

and benefited by improving their Communication Skills.


21. Weekly Test: As part of the JKC curriculum, Weekly and Monthly Tests were conducted for

Summer, Second and Third Batches.


22. Grand Test: As per the instructions of CCE, Grand Test was conducted for Summer Batch

Second Batch and Third batch.


23. Results: Results of Grand Test for Summer Batch, Second Batch and Third Batch were

announced.


14. JKC Certificates: JKC Certificates were issued to the students who successfully completed

their training.
