NATIONAL WORKSHOP 

ON  

ANTENNA DESIGN USING HFSS 7th ‐8th November 2013 

(Organized by Vimal Jyothi Engineering College, Kannur in association with     

IEEE Malabar Subsection)

The  Department  of  Electronics  &  Communication  Engineering  of  Vimal  Jyothi  Engineering 

College,    organized  a  two‐day  national  workshop  on  “Antenna  Design  Using  HFSS”  in 

association with  IEEE Malabar Subsection on 7th  ‐8th November 2013. The participants were 

offered different design aspects of antenna modeling using HFSS software. 

Hands  on  sessions were  conducted  on  both  days  led  by Mr. RAJA. R  expert  from  Innovent 

Engineering  Solutions  Pvt.  Ltd,  Bangalore  and Mr. MANOJ  K.C,  Assistant  Professor  Vimal 

Jyothi Engineering College. It mainly focused on the following topics. 

1. Basics of Antenna design parameter considerations for Antenna design. 

2. Role of simulation in RF & Microwave. 

3. Introduction to HFSS. 

4. Hands on sessions. 

i. Microstrip Patch Antenna design ii. Inset Fed Patch Antenna design iii. CPW Fed Patch Antenna design iv. Horn Antenna design v. UWB Antenna design vi. Coupler design vii. Filter design 

 The Workshop was coordinated by Mr. Jubin Sebastian, convened by Mr. Jerrin Yomas. 

 Ms. Roshni T.V ( HoD, ECE) , served as the  organizing secretary.
