Report on International Day for Persons with Disabilities Date: December 3, 2011 Transformation of the life of handicap children are the key intervention of Rishilpi Development Project. Rishilpi intents to rehabilitate the disabled persons maximizing the physical ability and social integration promoting the rights of person with disabilities. Emphasis is given to the rehabilitation of disabled children and has many life changing events for holistic change of their life. International day of Person with disability (IDPwD) is one of the important events for promote an understanding of people with disability and encourage support for their dignity, rights and wellbeing. Rishilpi Celebrated the International day of Person with disability (IDPwD) on 3 rd December 2011 in collaboration with local government. The key theme of this year is Key theme of the day: “Together for a better world for all: Including person with disabilities in development” At District level we participated the program coordinated by the Deputy Commissioner and Upazilla (Sub-District) level Rishilpi celebrated the day in collaboration with local administration, local elite person and Local Elected body but Rishilpi was the leading part of the program. Total numbers of 848 participants including Person with Disability and their care givers have been participated in this program. Joint Venture Program under the coordination of Deputy Commissioner Office Express harmony pledges to the key them: “Together for a better world for all: Including person with disabilities in development”. Marking the day a colorful rally was brought out in Sathkhira early in the morning from Razzak Park to Upazilla Office. Mr.Mukesh Chandro Biswas, Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC General) of Satkhira district inaugurated the rally. At the end of the rally a grand discussion meeting was organized at Upazilla auditorium in the chair Mr.Khan Mustafizur Rahman Deputy Director, Social Services Department. Assistant Director of Rishilpi M.A Bari was the key speaker of the meeting while representative from different NGOs were spoke on the meeting followed by a cultural program performed by the handicapped children of the Rishilpi and other NGOs. It is prominent that the Rishilpi Children have done good compared to other and it was expressed by invites.

Programme at Rishilpi Head Quarter Rishilpi Health Program organized a special cultural program on December 3, 2011 with the participation of disabled persons. Rishilpi Director Mr.Vincenzo Falcone was the chief guest of the program while Rector of Rishilpi Ms. Laura Melano was the special guest of the program. Celebration program was chaired AD-HE Mr. M.A Bari, AD-FA Aswini Kumar Barmon, Italian friends Adelelio, Anna and Egle was present on the celebration. At the beginning of the program Mr. Vincenzo Falcone and other guest welcome the audience with expressing their harmony for the rights of disabled persons and felicitation them with flowers. Afterward, a colorful cultural program was performed by the person with disability, employees and guests. Special event of the Program was a dance performed by Italian guest Corinna & Robarta having Bangalee dress called Sharee. Disabled children performed and enjoyed the entire program with other audience.

It was a wonderful cultural event for the day and which has coincided with the Enzo’s declaration as desired by Bruno.

Mr. M.A Bari delivered his welcome speeches in the occasion of celebration expressing his love and respect to the disabled children. Chief Guest Mr. Vincenzo Falcone and Rector Laura Melano jointly articulated their deepest feelings for the persons with disabilities and encouraged them not to think your self disabled. He assured the audiences that Rishilpi always will belong to the need of disabled children and will keep them with special touch of them. In his speeches he shared the personal feelings of an Italian friend and Present General Secretary Mr. Bruno De Benedetti who has made his commitment for the handicap children for ensuring the quality of life. He declared that Mr. Bruno will work as an ambassador of Disabled children of our country, his wife Luisa also pledged her desire to bring hope for thousands of disabled person. During the declaration full of audience expressed their joyful thanks and gratitude to Bruno and his wife with lots of clapping. Program Manager-Health gave his heartiest love and honor to the dedicated couple on behalf of audiences. Director and Rector also declared that a Hostel for disabled children will be built and a land already selected for the hostel ( proposed land is available in front of Rishilpi Campus) and Enzo advised to Health Program staff to take the responsibility by every one and accordingly they will render their services for these disadvantaged ( Physically Challenged children). Later on the session was closed with vote of thanks. Khulna Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation Center Marking the day a colorful rally paraded the major streets of Satkhira raising the voice on key them “Together for a better world for all : Including person with disabilities in development” Rishilpi Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation center, Khulna along

with other NGOs and government department celebrated the day with different events. Deputy Commissioner Jamsher Ahmmed Khondoker of Khulna district inaugurated the rally while Representative from Rishilpi Md. Shawkat Ali, Program Manager –Education and Physiotherapist Aminul Islam were the leading part of the rally. At the end of the rally a discussion meeting held in the chair Assistant Director of Social Services Department Md. Delwer Hossain. Key note was presented in the discussion meeting by Professor Mazharul Hannan. Total number of 100 disabled person and their parents from Rishilpi attended the rally and discussion meeting.

Keshobpur CBR Center Expressing the solidarity of the theme of the International Day for Persons with disabilities (IDPwD) Keshobpur Community Based Rehabilitation (CBR) center of Rishilpi Health Program organized a colorful rally where Upazilla Chariman of Keshobpur Upazilla Md. H.M Amir Hossain was present as chief guest while Paura Mayor Abdus Samad Biswas was present as special guest. At the end of the rally a discussion meeting was held in the chaired HR Manager of Rishilpi Md. Manirul Islam. Physiotherapist Mr. Liton Paul presented a key note on the meeting. About 62 disabled persons

were participated the rally and discussion meeting

Tala CBR Center

Expressing harmony with the key theme of the day Tala Community Based Rehabilitation (CBR) center of Rishilpi Health Program organized a rally to celebrate the International Day for Person with Disabilities. At the end of Rally Rishilpi organized a discussion meeting, Social welfare Officer of Tala Md. harunur Rashid was the chief guest of the meeting while Program Manager-ESP Mahabubur Rahman was a special Guest. Dr. Barkat Ali was the key note presenter

of the meeting. Total number of 120 including disabled persons attended the celebration program.

Assasuni CBR Center Assasuni Community Based Rehabilitation (CBR) center of Rishilpi Health Program organized a rally to celebrate the International Day for Person with Disabilities. Expressing the harmony and action to the

key them “Together for a better world for all: Including per son with disabilities in development” a colourful rally was parade the different road of Budhhata area. At the end of Rally Rishilpi organized a discussion meeting, Prominent Journalist Mujibur Rahman was the chief guest of the meeting while ADP Manager of World Vision Mr. Daniel Halder was the special guest of the program. Manager ROT Munshi Khairul Islam took part the program as leading organizer. Physiotherapist Mehedi Hasan was the key note presenter of the meeting. World vision joined with the celebration program with its Health Program staff. Total number of 111 including disabled persons attended the celebration program.

Kalaroa CBR Center

Expressing solidarity with the key theme of the day “Together for a better world for all: Including person with disabilities in development” Rishilpi Health Program organized a colorful rally that was marched on the different road of Kalaroa Paurashava. At the end of Rally Rishilpi organized a discussion meeting, Social Service Officer Adhir Chandro Gain was the chief guest of the meeting. Meeting was conducted in the chaired Physiotherapist Shankor Kumar Dhali. Social Organizer Shihab Uddin Palsah spoke on the celebration meeting and explained the key them in the meeting. Total number of 150 including disabled persons attended the celebration program.
