Report on National Level Student Research Conference on Demonetization on 4.9.17 Research Centre of K.E.S.’s Shroff College of Arts and Commerce organized a National Level Intercollegiate Research Conference for Students on Implications of Demonetization on Manufacturing, Service, IT & Finance on 4 th September, where around 110 teams participated and presented their original research paper on various sub-themes. A group of three students (Mr. Nilesh Jaiswar and Ms. Disha Vishwakarma from TYBA Economics and Mr. Mayur Solanki from TYBCOM) participated in this event from V.E.S. College of Arts, Science and Commerce and secured the 2 nd Position for their paper on “The Effects of Demonetization on Unorganized Footwear Manufacturers in Thakkar Bappa Colony, Kurla, Mumbai”. The students did a detailed study of the complete cycle of footwear business at the focus area. They prepared a specific questionnaire, which they used for personally interviewing around 50 footwear manufacturers. The data collected was analyzed and summarized into concrete results. This research work was carried out under the guidance of Associate Professor Samhitha Sharma Kain (HOD Economics Department) and Assistant Professor Heena Thakkar.
