This has negatively impacted on the economy of the county as a whole.

Large trucks including The county government vehicles are seen stuck in the

mud.

(Wajir county Low loader even wasn't spared by the mud ) These challenges have made the county unattractive to investors who rely

mostly on good road network.

Objective of the report

Identify The Most Critical roads that require urgent attention

Qanjara - Habaswein The road just outsideqanjara town towardshabaswin is in bad

condition. approximately3km section is flooded. The section is currentlyimpassable.

Dilmanyale- Abakore Approximately 2kmsection of the road isflooded with a lot of bigdepressions. Alot

the town from Laghboqolis completely cut off.

water is producing badsmell and also is abreeding ground forMosquitoes

affected during the rainyseason, this is due to the

black cotton soil. Themost affected part issarif - Hatle Road , but

in general the whole roadis in bad condition

completely closed formore than two weeks The Road is sub-dividedinto Agtalehel- Abaq finRoad and Abaq Halul -Hara Road

narrow due to heavybushes . A lot of sharpcorners that can cause

head-on collision.

failed because of overtopping and seepage ofwater under the drift.

Dilmanyale Town A lot of sag and crests

curves along the verticalprofile of the road.

This has createdcatchment areasespecially on the sagareas of the road.Stagnant water along thecarriageway and also theside drains createsbreeding grounds formosquitoes.

The road conditions in wajir south sub-county are generally alarmingconsidering the vital role these roads play in contributing to the economy ofwajir county. Urgent and critical action need to be taken to salvage theseroads.
