Report on Swachhta Pakhwada
The NIPCCD RC (I) is observing Swachhta Pakhwada to spread the message of
cleanliness and hygiene and to increase the participation of every individual in
Swachhta Abhiyan during 01 – 15 March, 2017. In this regards, various events were
organized on 03rd March 2017 which are as follows:
I. Pledge for Swachh Bharat and Signature Campaign:
Functionaries of One Stop Centre attending the Induction Training and
Faculty/Staff of NIPCCD RC (I) Indore took a pledge to work for Swachha
Bharat and participated in Signature Campaign expressing their commitment
towards the issue.
II. Cleanliness Drive in One Stop Centre (Sakhi):
Mr. Paras, Section Officer (Accts), MWCD and Dr. K.C. Choudhary, Faculty
NIPCCD, Indore visited One Stop Centre (Sakhi), My Hospital Indore and had a
talk on objectives of Swachh Bharat Mission and on going activities of
Swatchhta Pakhwada. They along with OSC functionaries participated in
cleanliness drive in the campus of one stop centre.

III. Best Room Competition among Faculty/Staff:
Dr. Aneel Babu, RC(I/C) and Mrs. Shashi Kala Bodra, AD visited all faculty
and staff rooms to check and verify the status of cleanliness in different rooms.
The cleanliness status of different rooms was measured on different scales and
evaluation of best room in the office was carried out.
IV. Cleanliness Audit in Campus:
Sh. R.S. Chauhan, AAO and other staff members visited different parts of
the campus and audited the cleaning status conducted in routine. The team
simultaneously cleaned all such spaces which were found dirty.
V. Cleanliness Audit of Drinking Water Facilities and Wash Room:
Sh. R.S. Chauhan, AAO and other staff members visited different all water
dispensers and wash room in the office and audited the routine cleaning status.
The team simultaneously conducted the cleanliness drive and instructed the
staff to maintain proper cleanliness of wash rooms and drinking water facilities
in routine. It was also decided to always mark the date of cleaning on the
water dispenser so that it could be easily monitored in future.

1. Cleanliness Drive in the Hostel Backyard and front open space:
The Faculty Members and Staff of NIPCCD, RC L) carried out the cleanliness drive in the hostel
backyard and front open space by sweeping the dried leaves and clearing garbage which was scattered all
around. They also took up gardening work which included preparation of basin for plants and trees. The
photographs depicting these activities attached herewith for the needful please.

Report of Day III (March 3, 2017)
Theme: Personal Hygiene and Safe Food
To mark the occasion of Swachhta Pakhwada being observed by RC(G), it
conducted an Orientation of catering staff of the hostel on food hygiene, cleanliness
drive in hostel canteen and organization of a sensitization programme for the inmates
of Jalukbari Destitute Home for women and Adolescent girls of Sishu Kalyan Sadan
(CCI). The day began with a
cleanliness drive in the canteen
and dining hall areas of NIPCCD
hostel in which alongwith the staff
member of RCG, personnel of
canteen also took part. The
kitchen, store and the dining hall
and utensils washing areas were
thoroughly cleaned. This was
followed by an orientation of the
catering staff on food safety and
hygiene. The faculty members
and other staff discussed about
precautions to be taken while
selecting and purchasing food
stuff to avoid adulterated and
spurious items of food. The cooks and the helpers were oriented on hygienic matters
while handling food, utensils and while serving food in the dining hall. A number of
short films, slides were used in the session. The orientation became interactive with
active participation of the canteen staff.

In order to sensitize the inmates of Jalukbari Destitute Home for women and
Adolescent girls on Personal and Menstrual Hygiene and spread the message of
Swachhta. The programme was
conducted by faculty members, Dr
Minakshi Regon and Mrs.
Kashmiri. A game was played with
adolescent girls of CCI and women
of the home as a mind jog to draw
their attention. Then a question
answer session was held to invoke
the past experiences faced and
assumptions held by the inmates in connection with menstrual hygiene and
cleanliness. Information on diverse issues pertaining to human physiology,
menstruation, hygienic practices, physical and mental health, safety etc. were
exchanged with the inmates by use of teaching learning materials. The faculty
members with participation of the
inmates conducted a role play
which helped the inmates to
understand the subject in a better
manner. The event saw
enthusiastic participation from all
the inmates of the home. It was a
success in raising awareness on
personal and menstrual hygiene
and giving an opportunity to let go off the myths and prejudices that the participating
girls and women so far held within them. After the workshop each of the participants
identified 2-3 practices they would adopt to ensure their personnel and menstrual
hygiene. At the end, participants were given light refreshment.
