Last Friday on March 10th 2006, I was with y class tra!elling on the school "us #ro

$""otta"ad to Lahore% &e were going to the theatre to see 'Mac"eth' "y &illia

Sha(espeare, which we are studying #or pur e)a% It was a !ery hot day and we had

 "een tra!elling #or ore than two hours when the dri!er stopped "y the roadside

where there were any stallholders selling snac(s and drin(s% Mr Ri*!i ga!e us

 perission to "uy what we wanted and return to the "us in #i!e inutes%

Soe girls shared their oney with those who did not ha!e any, "ut no"ody shared

with Ru(hsana% I saw her +oin a crowd o# girls around one stall and ta(e one o# the

 "ottles o# cola and run "ac( to the "us% The stallholder saw that Ru(hsana had ta(en it

without paying and when the other girls had "ought their drin(s, he ran to the "us todeand payent% y that tie, Mr Ri*!i had told the "us dri!er to set o##, and the

stallholder "anged on the window, claiing that one girl had not paid hi% Mr Ri*!i

as(ed us all i# we had paid #or our drin(s and we all, including Ru(hsana, swore we

had% Mr Ri*!i then told the an that his accusation was #alse "ecause all the girls had

 paid% Our "us then le#t the stallholder "ehind shouting and loo(ing !ery angry%

Ru(hsana "rought dishonour on her hersel# and the school #or stealing, and she ade

her crie e!en worse "y lying to Mr Ri*!i% -erhaps, I should ha!e shared y oney

with her, "ut I only had enough #or one drin(%

Antartica is like no other continent in the world. Its e'tremes make it

one of the most spectacular and $eautiful places on (arth.
