Challenges in 2015
Budget cuts: some Aid agencies are reporting budget cuts. Additional contributions: (e.g. one-off) may not happen at the same pace
as in 2013. Exchange rate: the exchange rates are fluctuating
(e.g. Euro->USD was 1.36 one year ago, now the rate is at 1.09 which correspond to a drop of approx. 20% in only 12 months)
Expectations: some donors are waiting/looking forward for the new SRF and more importantly the new CRP portfolio.
Opportunities: SRF: ensure focus, prioritization and accountability. CRP: propose a compelling research portfolio
responding to both donors and doers aspirations. Impact: agree on a set of Targets and Indicators aligned
with the Results Framework SLOs, IDOs and Sub-IDOs… and establish a robust Monitoring and Evaluation mechanism.

Final message: The importance of the ISPC recommendations for the FC
High appreciation of the ISPC reviews by the FC
The independent reviews of the ISPC are essential in the decision-making process (e.g. CRPs, SRF, Open Access, Genebank, Dryland Systems etc.)
The ISPC participation and commitment in various processes/meetings (e.g. SRF, CRP 2nd Call etc.)
Support to the ISPC Council members selection (3 posts in 2016, 1 for 2017)
