1.Seminar on career opportunities in chartered accountancy & commerce

(30/7/2013)

A one day seminar on career opportunities in chartered accountancy & commerce

was hosted by the institute in the sports complex on 30th July, 2013. The workshop

was conducted by CA Jay Chaira. Principal Dr. K. N. Chavda has given the welcome

speech and coordinator of the seminar Dr. Girish Rana has given the introduction of

the seminar and chief guest. Around 200 students participated in the seminar. He

gave lecture for 2 hours.

Today, just completing your graduation is not counted as having a great career.

Students need great knowledge and a good degree to face strong competition in life.

But the most important question is which is the right course after B.Com. The

speaker informed about various career opportunities after graduation. He talked

2. Seminar on Career Avenues in the Banking Sector (5/8/2013):

The seminar has been conducted on career avenues in the Banking Sector. It was

organized for the students of the final year of B.Com. Around 200 students have been

participated in the seminar. The key note speaker of the seminar was Dr. Jatin Nayak,

who gave detailed knowledge of the banking industry and the career opportunities. The

entire session being very interactive, students took active part in the entire seminar.

3. Seminar on career guidance program for competitive exams of banking &

talati services (2/1/2014)

Career guidance plays a very important role in the lives of all individuals, as it

helps in setting future goals and chooses careers. Career guidance is much needed

service to those who did not plan for their future at an early stage; more should be

done to assist the younger generations in personal career development. In this

seminar we have planned to make students understand different career

opportunities, procedure to appear those careers, different competitive exams and

also planned to make them to understand the importance of having goal and

passion and hard work to achieve the desired goal. For that we have involved some

social games and shown motivational video clips to the students who all were

participated in the program.

(G.L.) Dakshin Gujarat Vij Company Ltd. , Surat and Dr. Girish N. Rana were the

Key note speakers at the workshop. Prin. Dr. K. N. Chavda was the inspiring lead

behind this. Mr. Mayank V.Sodha and Ms. Shobhana P. Chhapia offered their

services as comperes at the workshop. The welcome speech was delievered by Mr.

Pratap V. Chhapia, President of South Gujarat Consumer Protection Education and

Research Centre. Ex- Member of Parliament, Shri Ramjibhai Mavani & Smt.

Ramaben R. Mavani also graced the occasion with their presence.

At the workshop focus was on Consumer protection Act, 1986, procedure of

filing complaints, consumer clubs, Role & Responsibilities of a Co-ordinator,

Consumer Rights [Sec. 6 C.P Act], importance of consumer awreness,

Advertisement and Food safety, Measures to be taken to differentiate between

original and duplicate food and drugs product, Electricity & Consumer Protection

and Banking and Insurance Sector and Consumer Education.

2. Seminar on C.A. and courses after B.COM key note speaker Mr. Jay Chhaira

The Seminar on C.A. and courses after B.Com. was conducted by the key note

speaker Mr. Jay Chhaira for the final year students of the college. The speakers

briefed the students of Amroli College about various career options available after

graduation. The scope of different fields available for post graduation was

discussed. The students got aware about the various ways of developing their

personality so as to enter the competitive corporate world. Overall it was a session

that gave students idea about how to go well in planning their career.

1. Faculty Development program campus to cooperate by TCS

Report of faculty development programme arrange on 12th October to 16

th october

,2015 Under the banner of “Campus to Corporate” Tata Consultancy services

(TCS) has organized a faculty development programme in co-operation with J. Z.

Shah Arts & H. P. Desai Commerce College, Amroli & R. V. Patel College of

Commerce, Amroli.

In This Programme 10 number of colleges has participated and 35 faculty

members of this college have presented their colleges. During these five days

programme the faculty members have attained the training of communication

skills, E-mail etiquettes, telephone communication, interview preparation, C.V.

writing, Project presentation, management games, etc. Near about 30 participant

could qualify this programme successfully. The main purpose of this programme

was to train the student by the well-trained faculty members.

2. TCS Affirmative Action Employability Training of SC/ST Students.

28/01 to 13/02/2016

The TATA Consultancy Services – Affirmative Action training program aims at

providing Free

Employability Training to the students from SC/ST background.

This 100 hours training comprises the following curriculum:

English communication & Grammar pertaining to practical use in

the business world.

Vocabulary

Email etiquettes

Soft Skills

Resume building

Interview facing skills

Analytical skills

At the conclusion of 100 hours training students will receive

a TCS Certificate of completion & appreciation which will increase their

employability in the corporate world.

In addition, post training TCS Recruitment team will conduct a campus

recruitment drive and the candidates who successfully clear Tcs selection process

will be selected for TCS BPS back office operations role.

To increase employability and upliftment of the SC/ST students we organized

TCS Affirmative Action training program for SC/ST & other final year students

collaboration with TCS from 28rd

FEBUARY to13th March 2016. Total 83

students took part in it. Trainer Kiran Gathania gave 100 hours training to

students. After the training in TCS campus recruitment drive 18 students were

selected.

3. Organized the KCG & UDISHA ‘Soft Skill Training’ Workshop

The workshop on Soft Skill Training have been organized by the college in the

sports complex of the college. The seminar was attended by 75 Students from

B.Com. The motive of the seminar was to make the students aware of the

forthcoming Training Sessions. Students got a thorough understanding of the

schedule of the sessions. The session opened with prayer, lightening of lamps and

introducing the guest faculties. The speaker found serious skills gap & shortage in

the industries of Surat, which were evident through various surveys & statistics.

Information was disseminated regarding the industry specific soft skills that the

ever competitive industry demands. Along with explaining the importance of how

Soft Skills play an important role in professional life, The speaker also explained

how to impart the training for acquiring the same. He illustrated how acquiring

these skills are crucial for professional as well as personal development. The

entire session being very interactive, students took active part in understanding the

topic. Students absorbed the information & shared their experiences on the issue.

The speaker, with his own experiences, shed light on the various issues faced

during various stages of Professional life & how to overcome them, which was

received with applause by the students.

1. Organised one day seminar in ‘Demonetization of Currency of India’ jointly

organized with ISAC 11th

February, 2017.

UGC sponsored National Seminar on the theme of "Demonetisation of

Currency in India" (Multidisciplinary) was successfully organised our college on Saturday

February 11, 2017. It was joint venture with International Society for Applied Commerce

(ISAC). It was inaugurated by Pro-Vice Chancellor of VNSGU University, Surat Prind. Dr.

Bhaskar Rawal and Vice Chancellor of Sardar Patel Univeristy, Vallabhvidhyanagar Prof.

Dr. Shirish Kulkarni. President of College Management and leading NGO "Chhanyado"

shree Bharatbhai Shah, Hon. Secretary of JJT Shree Ashwinbhai Patel and Prod. Gurudatta

Jappe of KK Shahstri Govt. Sci. Colllege, Amdavad, graced the inaugural Ceremony as

Chief Guests. Principal of the College Dr. Kishorsinh Chavda welcomed the guests. Co-

ordinator of the Seminar Prof. Girish Rana gave detail of the seminar. On this occasion 6th

issue of "Commerce Window" (an International Peer Reviewed Bi-Annual Journal published

by ISAC) was declared open. It includes the papers being presented by the participants.

280 delegates including 80 faculties and 200 students participated. Prof. Dr.

Hemant Shah of HLArts College, Ahmadabad, Mr.Kirtan Shah CFA, Mumbai and Prod. Dr.

Kiran Pandya, Prof. and Head, MHRD, VNSGU Surat presented their Key-note speeches in

different sessions. 80 papers were presented by the delegates. Certificates and Awards for

Outstanding Papers were presented. Results were declared by Prof. Dr. Sejal Desai and Prin.

Dr.C.K.Patel. Prof. Dr.Girishkumar Rana proposed a vote of thanks.

2. Cashless and Digital India.

Seminar on Cashless and Digital India was held on 10th December, 2016 by

Brijesh vaghela. The Digital India programme is a flagship programme of the

Government of India with a vision to transform India into a digitally empowered

society and knowledge economy. “Faceless, Paperless, Cashless” is one of

professed role of Digital India. The government is giving more importance to turn

the economy towards cashless economy and moving towards the digitization.

1. Four day workshop on Goods and Service Tax (GST) for students and

faculty on 14th

to 18th

August, 2017.

An interactive session on GST (Goods and Service Tax) was organized our college on

14th

– 18th

August, 2017. The Whole indirect tax system of India has been reformed. It will affect

the economy as a whole has it will eliminate cascading effects as in indirect tax structure, which

will change the prices, producing and markets. It will increase economy development in long

term. The Keynote Speaker was Mr. Chetan Khandelwal, Member of B.G.A. Foundation, and

Surat. Discussed various concepts like reverse mechanism, composition scheme, Input Tax

Credit (ITC), etc. He also discussed regarding the registration, Procedure and returns to be filed

under GST Portal, Students have been taught how to make entries in the Tally Software to get

automatic calculation of GST.

The Workshop has been coordinated by Dr. Sejalben Desai and Prof. CS Shweta Patel. Our 500

students belonging to second and third year of B.Com. Benefitted from the session. The Session

was enriching for the students and it ended with an interactive session between the resource

person and the students and faculty present for the session.

2. One day workshop on “Tie &Dye Technique” on fabric on 28th

August,

2017

Our College organized a Workshop on “Tie & Dye” Technique on Fabric on 28th

August, 2017 with support and service of Aakar Academy of Art, Ahmedabad. Total 230

Participants were benefited by the said workshop. The Team of expert from Aakar

Academy of Art, Ahmeabad provided hands on training to students, and “IGNOU”

affiliated certificated to all the participants.

3. Six days workshop on Beauty Parlour and Chocolates Making organized

from 29 November, 2017 to 5 December, 2017.

Six days workshop on Beauty care workshop and life oriented chocolate making

workshop was organised from 29 November, 2017 to 5 December, 2017. This workshop was

organised for college girls students only. Innugeral function was held in the presence of

Prin.Dr.K.N.Chavda and all the college staff members. Beauty parlour includes various

theoretical and practical session of Bridal Mackup, Face Treatment, Home Made Mehndi facial

Fruit Facial Different Type of Saree wrapping, Hair Cut, Hair Style and Self Threading for

eyebrows. At the end Mehndi Session is enjoyed thoroughly by the participants.

The Chocolate session includes primary information on how chocolates are made, different

ingredients used in chocolate making. More then 35 different types of chocolates were made

including wrapping of chocolate, chocolate bouquet, chocolate basket and its cone along with its

Decoration. At the end all the female participants were given chocolate to taste. The last day

workshop ended with the distribution of certificates. College have given tremendous support and

co-ordination in making these workshop successful.

4. Seminar on Digital Banking 25/01/18:

The programme was started at 11.00 a.m. with prayer and lamp lightening followed by welcome

speech by Dr. K.N. Chawda, Principal.

Mr. Harish Kapdiya ,SBI addressed the gathering and motivated the students to adopt the

different methods of cashless transaction in their life and also motivated the students to

encourage other individuals to adopt the different methods of cashless transaction.

The programme ended at 12:30 p.m. with Vote of thanks.
