1. INTRODUCTION:
Sahrdaya College of Advanced Studies, Kodakara has started functioning from 28 June, 2012
with four currently relevant Programmes such as B.Sc. Psychology, BCA, BCom and BBA with
an absorbing capacity of 40 students for BCom and 24 each for other three programmes. I am
proud to announce that the College enjoys its full capacity in the very initial year and from the
responses that we have had, we have anchored on a firm ground. We have already built up within
the short span of one year a four-storeyed imposing structure measuring 50,000 sq.ft. with an all
inclusive infrastructure and competent staff. The College enjoys extensive and captivating lawn
which whoever enters can feast on. The flora and fauna unique to the campus adds to its beauty
and makes it eco-friendly. Thanks to the efforts of the Management that the access road from the
State Highway is being made more compatible for the public and the users.
2. A BRIEF HISTORY AT A GLANCE:
Sahrdaya College of Advanced Studies is the latest and novel venture of the Diocese of
Irinjalakuda which had been carved out of the Diocese of Thrissur in 1978. It had its humble
beginning with minimal resources at hand and a young Bishop Mar James Pazhayattil who was
then only 50 years of age, at the helm of affairs with a handful number of priests. It was a great
mission on his part to give shape to the Diocese of this size and nature. Needless to say he
SAHRDAYA COLLEGE OF ADVANCED STUDIES, KODAKARAPage 3
accomplished his task with tremendous speed which one cannot imagine. Apart from many other
ventures, education was one of his prominent agenda. With this in view, he had started far back
the prestigious Sahrdaya College of Engineering and Technology which has completed a decade
and celebrated its decennial, reckoned to be the best and the leading Engineering College in the
whole of the State of Kerala. Sahrdaya College of Advanced Studies is yet another prestigious
undertaking which has recently started with immense success near at sight. At the very initial
year the College could bag four programmes at a stretch from the University which could
function with no time lost and with the required number of competent staff generating
confidence in all who were associated in one way or other from within and without.

At the end of March this year, the College has completed building four storeys of around 50000
sq.ft. of plinth area with a unique architectural semi circular design in the middle of the imposing
single structured building. The reception at the very entry of the building functions as the

Relations Officer (PRO). Adjacent to it is the cabined faculty space attached. The Library is
filled with amenities to its full capacity. We enjoy a spacious Computer Lab on the first floor in
an area of below 1000 sq.ft. with 25 computers with internet facility. The whole college comes
under surveillance with CCTV. The present improvised auditorium has a seating capacity to

the programmes are in full swing. Unique to Sahrdaya, a number of blue huts spread over the
