Mr Tarun Daga, Managing Director, TCIL, unfurled the tri-colour. He then extended his good wishes to the employees. On the occasion, the National Anthem was played followed by a ceremonial march past. In the colourful march past school children also participated in a colourful pageantry. On the occasion, security personnel were felicitated for setting the best standards while performing their duty. Meanwhile, the Annual Garden, Flower & Vegetable Competition-2018 for the TCIL employees staying in TCIL township was held on January 19, 2018. The winners were felicitated on the occassion of Republic Day.

REPUBLIC DAY CELEBRATED WITH PATRIOTIC FERVOURThe Tinplate Company of India Limited (TCIL) celebrated the 69th Republic Day with patriotic fervour on January 26, 2018 at the Tinplate Sports Complex. Bureau of Indian Standards (BSI) conducted Surveillance Audit of ISO 27001:2013 on January 25, 2018. After the process, BSI recommended for Continued Certification of ISO

The Tinplate Company of India Limited (TCIL) won the 5th Garden of the Year content which was organised by the Horticulture Society Jamshedpur. In a function organised at United Club, Mr Anand Sen, President, TQM & Steel Business, Tata Steel handed over

the award to Mr Uday Prakash Singh, Public Relations Officer, TCIL. Apart from this Director’s Bungalow won second prize in Company Maintained Bungalow and Golmuri House was given Certificate of Merit. The winners were also felicitated on the occasion. This annual event

has been working as a platform for people and organizations in the field of horticulture to interact, exchange skills, latest technology and best practices and it has also been helping such people and organisations expand and diversify their activities in the same and related fields.

The events were designed in a way to sensitise and create awareness on road safety in Jamshedpur. As part of the initiative safety stewards were deployed at Gate No. 5 & 6, Opposite to ETL I Entrance, Truck Sealing Point, Car Parking area & Trailer Movement area, to create awareness among employees and contractors’ employees.

PARK DEDICATED FOR RESIDENTIAL CAMP SCHOOL CHILDREN

In a bid to generate greater awareness on domestic safety and road safety, TCIL organised Domestic Management Programme for female contractors’ workers and spouses of contractors’ workers on January 12, 2018 at Gurukul. Mr A Haque-Chief Safety Officer, highlighted important measures need to be taken to be safe at workplace and on road. He appealed all the participants to make best use of this programme to enhance their awareness on this issue. Mrs Ann G Maurya- Ethics Co-Ordinator, Mr N R Rao and Mrs Shilpi Sinha also addressed the gathering.

Gulmohar Utsav 2018 - an Annual Cultural Conclave- was organised on January 27, 2018 at Gulmohar Udyan, (in front of Evening Club). The initiative was taken to provide a platform and encourage children from our community schools to exhibit their latent talent.

Ms Ruchi Narendran inaugurated a park for school children of residential camp school (Masti Ki Pathshala). The event was organised as a joint effort of Tata Steel and

The Tinplate Company of India Limited. The camp school offers an eleven-month bridge course that mainstreams the children who have never been enrolled in any school

or have dropped out. The park is well equipped with various types of swings for children.

participated in the Third edition of Tata Steel Bhuvaneswar Half Marathon, organized on January 14, 2018 at Kalinga Stadium.

It witnessed participation from 4500 running enthusiasts from across

the nation, making the event an immense success this year as

well. The only professional half marathon (21.1 km) run of the

city organised by the steel major in association with Sports and Youth Services Department, Government of Odisha was flagged off at 6 am by Dr S C Jamir, Hon’ble Governor of Odisha.

The Annual Sports of TCIL employees and TCIL Aided Schools’ children was held on January 26, 2018 at Tinplate Sports Complex. Employees from ETP, CRM, Plant Services, and General Services took part in it. Events like 100 Meters to 800 Meters, Shot Put, Discus, Long Jump and Tug of War were held. Under Tinplate Sports League T10 Tennis Ball Cricket Tournament was held from January 15 to 20, 2018 at Tinplate Sports Complex. Greyhounds team topped the list with six points.topped the list with six points.
