• Ireland is a country in Western Europe. In 1973 join to European Union. It covers most of the island of the same name. The capitel of Ireland is Dublin, president of Ireland is Michael D. Higgins. In 2011 there were about 122,000 Polish people.

Saint Patrick – Apostle of Ireland

• St. Patrick - bishop and apostle of Ireland, the saint of the Catholic Church and the Orthodox, missionary and organizer of religious life in Ireland. He was born in 385 (according to other sources in 389). Probably came from the area of present-day Wales, though, the place of birth is sometimes also considered Bannavem Taberniae on the west coast of Britain.

Saint Patrick's Day• Is a cultural and religious holiday celebrated on

17 March. It is named after Saint Patrick the most commonly recognised of the patron saints of Ireland. Saint Patrick's Day was made an official Christian feast day in the early seventeenth century and is observed by the Catholic Church, the Anglican Communion (especially the Church of Ireland), the Eastern Orthodox Church and Lutheran Church. Celebrations generally involve public parades and festivals, and the wearing of green attire or shamrocks.

Shamrock

• Shamrock is trefoil, symbol of Ireland. According to legend, St. Patrick used it by showing this plant as one stalk with three leaves to depict the essence of the Trinity. On St. Patrick's Day (March 17), shamrock is worn on his lapel clothes by Irish people all over the world.

Loch Coirib• Coiribe Loch, Lough Corrib-lake in the west of Ireland. 176 km2 area,

connected by underground channels of Loch Measca (Lough Mask). It has numerous islands. Used for water sports. The previous name of Loch Loch nOirbsean Coiribe it, which, according to tradition, is derived from the Navigator Orbsen Mac Alloid (commonly called Manannan Mac Lir, The Son of the Sea, from which the name of the Isle of Man).

Dublin

• Dublin is the capital and most populous city of Ireland. The English name for the city is derived from the Irish name Dubhlinn, meaning "black pool". Dublin is situated in the province of Leinster near the midpoint of Ireland's east coast, at the mouth of the River Liffey and the centre of the Dublin Region.

Cork• Cork is a city in Ireland. It is located in the South-West

Region and in the province of Munster. With a population of 119,230, it is the second largest city in the state and the third most populous on the island of Ireland. The city is built on the River Lee which divides into two channels at the western end of the city. The city centre is located on the island created by the channels. At the eastern end of the city centre where the channels re-converge, quays and docks along the river banks lead to Lough Mahon and Cork Harbour, which is one of the world's largest natural harbours.

Christ Church Cathedral

• Is the cathedral of the United Dioceses of Dublin and Glendalough and the cathedral of the Ecclesiastical province of the United Provinces of Dublin and Cashel in the Church of Ireland. It is situated in Dublin, and is the elder of the capital city's two medieval cathedrals, the other being St Patrick's Cathedral.

Interesting facts about Ireland• The harp is the symbol of Ireland, and its image is on

the currency. Harp, which became a model for the state symbol is real. It now resides at Trinity College in Dublin.

• From Ireland comes to Halloween. Initially it was called Samhain. As a result of emigration to America feast was grafted on American soil, and returned to Europe changed. In Ireland, is celebrated very pompously.

Guinness

• Is a popular Irish beer that originated in the brewery of Arthur Guinness (1725–1803) at St. James's Gate, Dublin. Guinness is one of the most successful beer brands worldwide. It is brewed in almost 60 countries and is available in over 100. 850 million litres are sold annually. Guinness is a stout type, that is dark, almost black beer.

Hornpipe

• Irish dance solo, kept in 4/4 time, danced only in hard shoes. It was created around 1760 based on the English performances. Initially, it was danced only by men, but the wave of emancipation was adapted as the girls (the first woman danced hornpipe in Cork). characteristic of the dance is the frequent use of the dancers step „rock”, or sway from side to side legs crossed at the ankles. Hornpipe is danced also in Scotland.
