Aims & ObjectivesThis Expression of Interest (EOI) document is intended to lead to the identification of software and Fintechs firms that can demonstrate having sufficient capacity and experience to identify internet banking user needs in Kenya, software development and design, user acceptance testing and rollout. The firm must also be able to demonstrate how cybersecurity consideration have been built in the design and will continue to be taken care of in the life cycle of the solution.

1 REQUEST FOR PROPOSALS FOR NEW INTERNET BANKING
PLATFORM:USERREQUIREMENTSDOCUMENT
1.1 Introduction
Credit Bank currently provides internet banking as an alternate channel for service delivery to its
esteemed clientele. With technology innovations in Financial Technology, the bank keeps
improving functionalities and features of digital channels such as Internet banking to give
customer value, convenience and a great experience.
1.2 Purpose and Scope
Internet banking solution targets both existing customers and/or new/potential and customers.
Products features include but are not limited to typical Internet Banking features such as funds
transfer, bulk payments processing, standing orders, cheque book requests, PesaLink, Mobile
Money, Wallet Accounts, utility payments, self‐registration and account opening services.
Whereas this document is circulated to possible suppliers for purposes of eliciting bids, the
features listed above and below are not exhaustive. A Scope of Work (SOW) document shall be
developed by project team, comprised of bank staff and successful bidder, to encompass all
deliverables for contracting purposes.

banking system. All financial transactions received through the platform
shall be posted to the core banking system, either as STP (Straight
Through Processing) or off‐line (through manual intervention,
depending on the nature of transaction, especially for lead generation).

Treasury: executable rates in internal account transfers, TT,
RTGS
Advisory services: treasury news, custody news like bond offers,
shares etc.
Include tolerance levels so that rates issued should not lead to
losses…e.g. in instances where there is a miscommunication
with the client on the buy or sell it should not allow a deal to go
through if it’s not correctly quoted.

Customer can log in an issue and the system is able to track
progress of issue handling up to resolution; including sending an
alert in the event of SLA violation.
Loan Processing The system enables the customers to apply for loans and get the same
disbursed to them once approved. The system will provide the user
interface to:

Check loan balance
Process the loan application
Submit loan application to CBS with required parameters
Disburse loan to customer’s current account (existing or new) or
Mobile money.
Create new current accounts ‐ Client opts to disburse to a non‐existent
current account.
Ability for corporate clients to create and maintain an employee
database to be able to pre‐approve employees for loans.
Loan Repayment The system manages all loan repayments from the customers. The
system provides the user interfaces to:
Make loan repayments
Schedule loan repayments
Auto‐recover from customer’s current account, CBS to handle.
Track customer loan balances via CBS account view (enquiry) to
handle.
Generate loan statement
Internet Lending solution allows a customer to initiate an immediate or
schedule a loan repayment from their designated current account. It also
accepts loan repayments via available Online or Mobile Money
Services, as MPESA, Airtel Money or PayPal
Loan Message Services The system manages the various SMS’s communication to customer via
Email and SMS:

System Admin Portal Security sub‐system of the administration module ensures the
system is secure from malicious operations, intrusion, and
hacking. To ensure this is possible, the system employs a SSL
(Secure Socket Layer) certificate, which encrypts (scrambles)
data being transmitted to hinder any other unauthorized party
to view that data.
The system also keeps a track of all secured sessions and
automatically locks unattended sessions to avoid
unauthenticated use

Corporate Admin
Functions
Creation/ deletion of non‐authorizer roles on internet banking
platform which should be followed by authorization by
mandated authorizers and should allow upload of board
resolution. This will also require authorization at CB Back office
