RESEARCH INTO SIMILAR MAGAZINES

The colour scheme used is, pink and orange, a very subtle combination of light colours.

The fonts used are free style, sans-serif fonts and have soft edges to give it a subtle feel.

Serif fonts and 3D projection is used to emphasize on the important taglines.

The image itself portrays the essence of indie pop music as the lighting is bright and the costumes are light coloured yet eye-catching.

A tinge of colour is added by the magazine’s customary masthead by adding a very appealing red to the otherwise softly-coloured magazine.

The straplines provide essential information about the magazine issue, appealing to the consumers for its contents.

The colours used are very soft in accordance with the genre of the magazine. The white text contrasted against the subtle pinks and oranges convey a very mellow mood.

Serif fonts are used to highlight the main taglines of the magazine covers by making them easily readable.

The image used portrays the light-hearted feel of indie pop music. The subtle make-up and softly coloured costumes accentuates the subtlety of the magazine.

The green of the background produces a serenity that is in line with the mellowness of the genre opted for the music magazine.

PLANNING• In conclusion of the research I conducted into the audience,

genres and existing magazines, I have planned to construct a music magazine based on the indie pop genre with subtle colours and a soft image.

• In working to design a music magazine in line with the sketch here, I decided to conduct the shoot at my house with my friend as a model. • The contents sheet was inspired by an existing magazine which I came across during my research.
