• Applications require that you submit a resume.• Resumes consist of the following:
– Contact information (address, phone number, and address)
– Objective (what job you want to obtain)– Education– A list of skills that you have as well as the activities
that you have participated in

• Some applications may require a cover letter.
• The cover letter contains the following:– Contact information (phone number, address,
and email) – How you found the job– Your qualifications– Your interest in the job

• When you apply, you may need to list references. – References are people (other than your family
members) who know your work skills and potential
• Some applications may require letters of recommendation.– These are letters that you ask others, who
know you well (but not family members), to write about your skills

After you have understood all the
requirements and directions, start filling out
the application. When you fill out the
application do the following: – Answer the questions honestly – Spell accurately and use proper punctuation – Have someone (i.e. your parent) proofread
your work

• After you have completed your application either submit it electronically (if you are completing it on-line) or mail it (if it is a paper application).

can do the following:– Practice with your family members. For
example, your mom can be the interviewer and you can be the interviewee.
– Tape record your practices and review them. Ask yourself: what do I need to change?

doing the following: – Firmly shake your interviewer’s hand – Answer the questions that you are being asked– Speak slowly and clearly– Use appropriate language – Be serious yet enthusiastic
