INTRODUCTION
Also known as Leucaena leucocephala a small, fast-growing mimosoid tree native to southern
Mexico and northern Central America (Belize and Guatemala),but is now naturalized throughout the tropics.
Common names include white leadtree, jumbay, and white popinac
.The specific name is derived from the Greek words λευκό, meaning "white", and κέφαλος, meaning "head", referring to its flowers.
It is known as Subabool in India. L. leucocephala is used for a variety of purposes, such as firewood, fiber and livestock fodder

OBJECTIVES
The main objective of this study was to determine the possibility of producing anacceptable Ipil-Ipil floor wax that can be an alternative to the present commercial floor wax in terms of its use in a concrete smooth cemented pavement.Three floor waxes werecompared; two were Ipil-Ipil floor waxes from young and mature leaves and the third oneis the commercial floor wax.The floor waxes from young and mature leaves of Ipil-Ipilwere statistically compared in their acceptability as basis for determining the moreacceptable Ipil-Ipil floor wax in terms of five quality attributes color, odor, texture, luster, general acceptability

MATERIALS AND PROCEDURES
PROCEDURES The first thing that you need to do is to extract the wax from the
leaves. There are a couple of ways that you can do this. The first is to put the leaves into a juicer, and the second is use a mortar and pestle and pulp the leaves.
You will then need to heat 50g of paraffin wax so that it melts. You will need to keep stirring this so that it does not stick to the pan. Once the paraffin wax has melted, pour 250ml of mineral oil into the pan, a little bit at a time. This stage should be taken slowly so that the mixture does not boil over and injure you.
Once this stage is complete you can add the juice of the ipil-ipil leaves. Once more, do this slowly and a little bit at a time. Once all the juice has been added, remove the pan from the heat but continue to stir the mixture so that it does not begin to set.

MATERIALS AND PROCEDURES
PROCEDURES When the mixture has cooled down a little, you can
transfer it to a bucket and, using either a clean rag or a floor mop, apply the mixture to your clean floor.
Leave this for about half an hour and then you can buff the floor. This should be done thoroughly to remove all traces of the wax (which could be slippery and cause an accident). Your floor will shiny and beautiful.
You can store any excess wax in a pot for future use, but it will need to be gently re-heated so that it is a liquid once more.
