Dear customer!Carl Nesjar was a multi-talented painter, sculptor and graphic artist, but is perhaps best known for his collaborations with Pablo Picasso. The stamp commemorating the centennial of his birth features a fountain model. Madeleine M. Karlstrøm has designed the stamp, which was issued on 14th August.
The new series of stamps, beginning with an issue on 17th September, is called “Research, Innovation, Technology” and illustrates fields in which Norwegian research and technology are far advanced. The themes for the stamps were chosen in collaboration with the Research Council of Norway. We begin with research carried out by May-Brit and Edvard Moser into what is perhaps most simply described as the brain’s GPS system. The second stamp in the series depicts the ultrasound technology that was developed by the industrial company GE Vingmed in the town of Horten for use in cardiac evaluations. Stamps are a source of knowledge, which can also be said of these stamps. Each stamp has a QR code which takes you to the website of the Research Council of Norway. Detailed descriptions of the stamps’ themes can be found there. Enzo Finger has designed the stamps.
