CONVENTION OF TRAILERS

All of the conventions I have included below

- High and Low AngleThis convention I used to show dominance between characters- Stereotypical

All trailers are stereotypical to a certain audience as it give the viewer an initial impression of a character- Sound Effects

These are used in all trailers to add emphasis on certain areas.- Release Date

A release date is normally always at the end of a trailer to give the viewer ad idea of when that film is coming out.- Characters

Every trailer gives an indication who the main characters are- Voice Overs

These are very useful because it gives the viewer quick and easy information.

MAIN TASK CONVENTION

I’ve analyzed many trailers to make a conclusion on what conventions there are within the horror genre.- Low Key LightingLow key lighting is one of the most important conventions of horror because it helps to create an atmosphere. - Isolated Setting In many films it is seen that directors kep characters isolated to help keep suspense high.- Happy StartsIn all horror films they start with a happy begging to help contrast the ending. - Handheld CameraHandheld cameras are becoming very popular as seen in films such as paranormal. This helps to give the viewer a sense of placement and motion .- Suspense

Suspense is well used in most horror trailers because it allows to keep the audience on the edge of there seats- Props

Props can be used to get the heart rate of the audience by including stereotypical weapons such as axes and knives- Fast pased editing

This keeps the audience on there toes. And enhances the scarsom experience of the film ebcause there adrelyn starts rushing

CONVENTIONS USED

Within my trailer im going to include all of the conventions I have highlighted below

- Sound EffectsThis will be very good for my trailer because it will allow me to create tension.

- StereotypicalUsing this feature will allow me to give the viewer an issional insight into what a character is true like.

- CharactersCharacters are going to be very important for me to show in the trailer because it will allow me to create a link between there appearance and there personality's, so the viewers no what to expect from the movie

- Isolated SettingIsolating the setting is important for me because it will help to create tension and it is very stereotypical for any horror trailer

- SuspenseSuspense Is also very important for my trailer as it is horror because it will allow me to make the trailer scaryer.

- Handheld CameraThis feature will allow me to create a more effective mood in running sequences because tis from a first person view

ANCILLARY TASK CONVENTIONS

- Large Fonts This helps to grab the users attention. This can be seen in all magazines.- Dark Colors

This helps to show of the darkness of the movie, it gives a good representation.- Pictures

Pictures are always used in magazines to show of parts of a film and to give the righting relevance.- Title

This is used to give the reader an essinal in sight into the movie, and it also creates questions- Cover lines

Cover lines are very conventional within a magazine because these are what gives the reader an indication of what’s inside the magazine from the front cover- Pricing

Pricing can always been seen on the front of magazine to let the buyer know how much the magazine is

HORROR ANCILLARY TASK CONVENTIONS

- Dark ColorsThis helps to show of the darkness of the movie, it gives a good representation.- Type Face

Using a type face is very important within horror because it automatically gets the reader thinking. These fonts can consist of such things as runny righting- Colors

Black red and other colors are good representations of horror because it allows you to link back- ImagesDark images of un humane things such as axes and knives these help to scare the audience and give them an understanding of what the the film is about- PropsProps within an image such as knives, and swords are all objects people relate to being scary, this helps the reader understanding what genre the movie is looking at

As you can see the only person who replied to this section of the survey has said they would want “Rock and heavy metal” music in the background.

TARGET AUDIENCE

To conduct my evaluation of how my audience thinks I used survey monkey and wall wisher.

From survey monkey I came to the understanding of what my target audience is looking for in this case, the person has said they want “Something which will make them jump”.I didn't’t manage to get a lot of result back from using survey monkey so it hasn’t gave me a broad perspective.

Wall wisher has given me lots of information on what my audience wants. Isolated settings, vulnerable characters were all things people have said will make the trailer successful

HOW IT WILL HELP MY PRODUCT

Analyzing all of these pieces of information will help make a decision on what I need to include in my product to make it more successful to my target audience.There key things are including tension within my trailers and only having a short trailer because this is what my audience wants so this is my main priority
