Location.
On the current location of Capellen, the Roman Reims-Arlon-Trèves road was part of a road that joined the « Tetelbierg » . The first written mention of the town was found in 1718 « Auf der Kappe » in the Koerich parish register, in a small village with five houses .
These houses were located in the north of the Roman road, and later along the main Luxembourg-Brussels road. The agglomeration locat-ed in the South of the Roman Road was called Capellen because of the old chapel that would have been located near « Kiem ».
In 1722 a regular carriage line was introduced between Luxembourg and Brussels passing also throught Capellen. Quite and peaceful, Capellen has a privileged location just ten minutes away from the cen-ter of Luxembourg, this explains why it is so highly rated on the Luxembourg real estate market in the present.
