Module Structure:

• Each Module will take one month to complete. Some modules will be shorter than others depending on breaks.

• Modules will typically use half of each of the staff meetings and 1-1s throughout the month and build off of each other. The other half will be Complex Coordinator driven.

• A general weekly-focus outline for each module: o Week 1: Provide an overview of the month including timeline and Learning Outcomes. An

activity to introduce the module and the topic. How can we get them thinking in the right mindset for the module to be successful? Process through the activity to connect it to the next week.

o Week 2: Introduce the concepts and skills of the module. In week one, we got them thinking with the right mindset, now we first expose them to the ideas and skills within the module.

o Week 3: Drive the concept home. We introduced the ideas and skills in week 2, now we drive them home. Design activities for them to dig a bit deeper into the concepts.

o Week 4: Apply the concepts. How can they use the ideas and skills behind this module in their daily lives? Future lives? RA Position? In their academics?

o 1-1’s: Use these to follow up individually with staff members either using reflective questions and follow-up assignments from the modules or general debrief.

• Each Module should include assessment connecting back to the intended learning outcomes. • Proposed staff meeting structures for the modules.

o Team Building Activity (10 minutes) ! The CM will start the team builders off doing the first one or two themselves setting a

good example of what we expect from these. After that they will work with a different RA each week to co-lead the Team Building Activity during the start of staff meetings.

o RA Modules (55 minutes) ! Here we are introducing new information using the outlines and facilitation guides from

the modules. ! These will be CC facilitated interactive or reflective activities. In our second year we will

be building in a returner track. o Break (5 minutes) o Information (15 minutes)

! This is for any information that needs to be shared and discussed such as closing information, building programming, duty, etc.

! We should move to including more important dates or announcements on the agendas we hand out and in emails that we will expect to be read (starting day 1)

• Looking at what we need staff to attend versus want staff to attend. • Looking at what needs to be discussed versus just announced.

o Complex Discussion: This can change week to week based on Complex need. (20 minutes) ! Supplemental Information:

• This is where we would re-cover or go deeper with RA specific duties and information such as revisiting how to fill out an IR, roommate mediations etc.

• This is supplementing or reinforcing previous information that we gave out. ! Programming & Community Development:

• Discussing programming more in depth, brainstorming or planning large scale efforts relating to programming and community.
