TRAINING Local Union 2287 and its contractors partner to offer the highest quality of training and experience in the floor covering industry. All employees are required to complete four years of in-depth apprenticeship training. This training includes classroom instruction taught by veteran instructors and on-site experience working with the full spectrum of floor covering materials. Experienced floor coverers participate in career-long continuing education in a vast array of subjects to stay current with industry technology and advancements. Our training facility also offers extensive safety and health training.

INSTALL (International Standards and Training Alliance) is a North American alliance of flooring mills, manufacturers, consultants, associations and contractors. Through comprehensive training and certification, we continuously improve the skill and productivity of our floor coverers to ensure superior flooring installation.

Our four-year curriculum is created by the United Brotherhood of Carpenters International Training Fund, and is delivered through classroom instruction and hands-on training. Content stays current with emerging trends, including best practices in occupied healthcare facilities, green building awareness and sustainability.

INSTALL constantly teams with leading mills and manufacturers to ensure that the curriculum meets current labor needs in the floor covering industry. INSTALL-certified floor coverers leave the program with confidence and pride in their training, professionalism and work. Ultimately, they are trained to maximize productivity so that contractors remain competitive in the industry.

Hiring an INSTALL Warranty Contractor is its own insurance policy. A customer buys peace of mind and a guarantee that each flooring project is installed correctly the first time. INSTALL has underwritten hundreds of millions of dollars in floor covering installations since the inception of the INSTALL Warranty on Labor, and there hasn’t been a single claim made to-date against our warranty.
