•  These  days,  most  devices  play  back  some  form  of  H.264  content  -­‐    they  can  use  a  Flash  player;  an  HTML  5  player  or  a  player  like  the  QuickTime  player  built  into  iOS.  

•  Different  devices  have  different  screen  sizes  and  prefer  different  encoding  seVngs  (profiles)  

•  Viewers  can  be  on  different  bandwidths,  so  need  different  bitrates  to  avoid  buffering  

•  Wowza  is  a  server  that  takes  in  1  format  and  delivers  mul/ple  versions.  Very  useful!
