North Key offers short-term intensive therapy as a way of preventing needless hospitalization. The program includes a mobile unit, which will meet a child and his or her caregiver at a safe location in any of the eight counties of Northern Kentucky within 3 to 24 hours of the initial call. The crisis clinician will conduct an assessment to determine the needs of the child. If hospitalization is deemed necessary, the clinician will facilitate the process. If hospitalization is not appropriate, the clinician will provide short-term intensive therapy for a period of one to three weeks, which includes outpatient counseling, home/school visits and service coordination. Referrals can be made by calling the Access line.A sliding fee scale is available based on family size and income. Medicaid and other forms of insurance are accepted.
