towards your heating bill, saving you money to use for medical or other
expenses.

Letter from Senator DiZoglio:
I am focused this session on evaluating bills filed
that impact our older adults. Among these pieces of
legislation is an important bill I have co-sponsored,
Senate Bill 427, An Act establishing a statewide
adopt-a-senior program.
I am strongly supportive of Senate Bill 427, which
would establish a statewide “adopt-a-senior”
program in Massachusetts, designed to assist older
adults with home and property maintenance,
including snow removal. Specifically, the bill
creates a registry of volunteers who have services to
offer that can be utilized by seniors in need of help.
Instead of hiring an expensive contractor, for
instance, an older adult could instead turn to the
registry and be matched with a local volunteer.
Not only would this legislation provide an
invaluable resource for our older adults, it would
also promote volunteerism and support efforts to
build safer, stronger, more cohesive communities.
If you have any questions, please feel free to contact
me anytime via phone at 978-984-7747 or
email at [email protected] or
Yours in service,
Diana
