1. (NEW) Centre Francophone Du Grand Toronto Mental Health Crisis Line (French Only): Centre
francophone du Grand Toronto (CFGT) has announced the establishment of a support line in mental
health for young people under 25. The support line will be open Monday to Friday from 8:30 a.m. to
4:30 p.m. at 647-881-6761 or 647-268-2016.
2. MHTO – Single Access Number for Free Mental Health Counselling: Calling Number: 1-866-585-6486.
A single access number for infants, children, youth and family mental health counselling.
3. Free iCBT (internet-based Cognitive Behavioural Therapy) programs: Funded by Ontario Government

Government Financial Support:
1. Financial Assistance for Newcomers, Refugees and Temporary Residents: The Canada Emergency Response Benefits (CERB) information in now available in multiple newcomer languages and includes a section on frequently asked questions for newcomers, refugees and temporary residents. For detailed information about CERB, please visit item # 2 below in this category.
2. Financial Assistance for People Receiving Ontario Works and Ontario Disability Support Program (ODSP): Social assistance recipients who are not receiving the Canada Emergency Response Benefit (CERB) are eligible for monthly payments of $100 for a single person and $200 for a family until July.
3. Canada Emergency Response Benefits (CERB): If you have stopped working because of COVID- 19, the Canada Emergency Response Benefit (CERB) may provide you with temporary income support. The CERB provides $500 a week for up to 16 weeks. The link includes info on how to apply.
4. Financial Support for Individuals (Canada Economic Response Plan): Support for individuals and families, people facing loss of income (CERB), indigenous peoples, who need it most, seniors, and students and recent graduates.
5. Financial Support for Businesses (Canada Economic Response Plan): Avoiding lay-offs and rehiring employees, reduced and deferred payments, access to credit, supporting financial stability, and support for self-employed individuals.

Prescription Drugs Coverage
1. Ontario Drug Benefit Program: Information on submitting applications and documentation for Trillium Drug Program and Seniors Co-payment Program.
Free Wi-Fi 1. Shaw Communication has opened Free Shaw Go WiFi, Canada’s largest WiFi network, to everybody.
Look for the Shaw Go network on your device and you can connect free without a login or Shaw ID. You can download the Shaw Go Wifi Finder App on your device and look for areas where Shaw Wifi is available.
Emergency Cooling Spaces during Heat Waves in Toronto: 1. The Emergency Cooling Centres are offered to residents as a last resort, if they do not have access to
a cool space and cannot keep cool in their home or outdoors during heat waves in Toronto. The centres are only open during heat warnings by Environment Canada. See the interactive map by clicking here to find the nearing cooling center to you.

1. Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) Support:
a. Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) support when returning to work: As Canada's
industries return to work, there is an increased demand for PPE. The Rapid Response
Platform automatically matches supply with demand, simplifying supplier discovery during
the procurement process.
b. Conquer COVID 19: Conquer COVID-19 is comprised of physicians, business leaders,
entrepreneurs, and other volunteers who are working together to ensure frontline workers
responsible for the health and wellbeing of Canadians have access to masks, gloves, and
other supplies that are essential in treating patients and minimizing the spread of the virus.
c. COVID 19 PPE Help: COVID PPE HELP is a network that facilitates distribution of Personal
Protective Equipment (PPE) to organizations in forms of customers, suppliers, donors and
logistics to help fulfill PPE needs across Canada.
2. Return to Work Guidelines:
a. Health and Safety Guidance During COVID-19 For Employers of Office Settings: This
document is part of a series of technical sector guidance documents developed to support
employers and employees in remaining healthy and safe in the workplace during the COVID-
19 outbreak.
b. Guidelines for Community and Workplace Settings while Returning to Work: Read Toronto

Needs Assessments and Surveys:

Needs Assessment Report – Urgent Newcomer Needs during COVID-19 Pandemic: This needs assessment conducted by Toronto city LIPs provides a snapshot in time of urgent newcomer needs in Toronto during the COVID-19 pandemic. The information was collected with a survey that ran from April 15 to April 22. Eighty five surveys were completed by representatives of fifty one organizations located throughout the GTA.

supports municipalities and organizations that provide social services e.g. food banks,
homeless shelters and individuals.
c. Ontario Helping Indigenous Communities Stop the Spread of COVID-19: Over $37 million
committed to support outbreak planning, prevention and mitigation.
d. Ontario Protecting Vulnerable Ontarians During COVID-19 Outbreak: Ontario
government provides 40$ to support organizations that provide residential services for
children and youth, people with developmental disabilities and emergency shelters for
women and families fleeing domestic violence.
2. Federal Government Funding and Support:
a. Canada Emergency Wage Subsidy Program: Charities and non-profit organizations can
now apply to 75% wage subsidy program
b. Emergency Community Support Fund: $350 million to support vulnerable Canadians
through charities and non-profit organizations that deliver essential services to those in
need. The funds are disbursed through United Way Centraide Canada, Red Cross
Canada, and Community Foundations of Canada.
c. Emergency Support Fund for Cultural, Heritage and Sport Organizations: $500 million
Emergency Support Fund will provide additional temporary relief to support cultural,
heritage and sport organizations and help them plan for the future.
3. Non-Governmental Funding:
a. Food Rx: COVID-19 Patient Food Security Fund: A new funding opportunity from Nourish
aims to enable Indigenous health services, Aboriginal Health Access Centres, Community
Health Centres, hospitals, and others.
b. Netflix Media has allocated $100 million for Emergency Support for Workers in the Creative Community
c. Akin Rent Relief Fund: This fund is open to current Akin studio members. You may request up to 50% of your current monthly Akin rent.
d. National Arts Centre unveils $100,000 relief initiative for performing artists.

1. CAMH-Building capacity to support the mental health of immigrants and refugees: A toolkit for settlement, social and health service providers.
2. Impact of COVID-19 on Canadians’ Mental Health – Survey Results: Canadian Mental Health Commission and Conference Board of Canada partnered to explore the impact of COVID-19 on Canadians’ mental health. Between April 27 and May 15, 2020, conducted a mental health pulse-check and received responses from 1,804 Canadians. We looked at the pro-social, at-risk, and help-seeking coping strategies they used.

(NEW) Resources for Congregate Settings
1. COVID-19 Frequently Asked Questions for Congregate Living Settings: provides answers to
approximately half of the questions received from the May 2020 webinars entitled Foundations of
COVID-19 Prevention and Control for Congregate Living Settings. Responses will be updated as new
information and resources become available.
2. How to Cohort During an Outbreak of COVID-19 in a Congregate Living Setting: can be used by
administrators and staff members in a range of congregate living settings to cohort (group) residents
based on risk of COVID-19 or positive test results during an outbreak in the facility.
3. COVID-19: Doing Cohort in Outbreaks in Congregate Living Settings: is a more detailed document on
doing cohort intended for public health units to use when assisting congregate living settings in
establishing and working in cohorts during a COVID-19 outbreak.

2. COVIDHelpTO Website for Navigating Financial and Housing Supports During COVID-19: Social
Planning Toronto released the CovidHelpTO website in 15 languages to help front-line workers
navigate the financial and housing support programs announced over the past couple of months.
3. Support for Small Business Tenants and Landlords Now Available: All commercial landlords in
Ontario can now apply for rental assistance to help their small business tenants impacted by the
COVID-19 pandemic.
