THIS WEEK’S CALENDAR

~ Sermon Notes ~~ Sermon Notes ~~ Sermon Notes ~~ Sermon Notes ~

Through the Lord’s Supper, Jesus comes to us and grants us His eternal gifts! As we prepare to receive the Lord’s Supper, God’s Word encourages us to examine ourselves. The following questions can help you as you prepare to receive the Lord and His gifts: 1) Do you believe that you are a sinner whose hope for eternal life comes from

Christ alone? Romans 3:23-24 2) Do you believe that Jesus Christ is God’s Son and your Savior? Matt. 16:15-17 3) Do you believe that Jesus is present in this sacred meal to grant His forgiveness?

Matthew 26:26-28

4) Do you, by the power of the Holy Spirit, desire to live a godly life in response to

the Lord’s grace and goodness? Romans 12:1-2

Rev Jim Buckman

“The Myth of Silent Christianity”

The Christian faith is not silent.

When we were baptized, we were set aside by the Holy Spirit to proclaim the good deeds of God:

the grace of the cross; the gifts and riches

which are ours now and eternally.

When we were children, we learned to sing, “This Little Gospel Light of Mine”

and we repeated the refrain, “Hide it under a basket? NO!!”

Today as we consider the hatred of others towards Christians, we remember the

sacrifice of Jesus and we reject “The Myth of Silent Christianity.”

Luke 8:26-39
