Key Projects & Accomplishments Assisted a team of engineers in putting together a new corporate data center with redundant

networking equipment to improve and maintain a 99.5% uptime of network connectivity to end users.

Travel to European offices to change leased line circuits over to frame relay which lowered the costs of providing data connectivity back to the main office.

Saved the company thousands of dollars by remotely changing 8 offices in Asia and the South Pacific over to frame relay circuits. Received the highest award the company offers to employees for making a difference or impact to better the company.

Updated Provo campus access network from hubs to switches and created a connectivity standard for the access layer switches. Installed approximately 70 Cisco switches.

Traveled to 5 different countries in 2 weeks to change IP addresses in foreign offices from costly registered public IP addresses to a local IP address range.

Moved network infrastructure in Copenhagen, Denmark to a new office location and brought the office up on a cheaper DSL VPN connection back to the main corporate office in the Provo.

Planned, designed and implemented a temporary network solution for a small corporate convention to promote a new product being made available to distributors of the company. (held at an offsite convention center that was connected via a VPN solution back to the corporate office)

Planned, designed and implemented a network solution for a new building near the Provo corporate office which included working out a way to provide a fiber-optic cabling solution to connect to the corporate network. (worked with a cabling team to get fiber-optic cable laid across center street in downtown Provo, Utah)

Provide computer hardware support and telecommunications support for end users. Troubleshoot issues, order parts and repair computers. Connect computers to data connections. Move computers to new locations when users move to new areas within the company. Setup phone extensions, voicemail and provide new users with a phone on their desk. Troubleshoot and resolve phone issues.

Provide frontline support for end users in using networked computers and working with various software applications. Receive incoming calls from users. Troubleshoot issues over the phone when possible and log them into a tracking program (Remedy) if the issue was not resolved immediately. Follow up with tickets logged into Remedy and make sure issues were resolved, ticket notes updated and the ticket then closed.
